These posts, like the fence panels and gates they are designed to support, are very good, cost-effective, functional products. When used together, note that this post is hammered into the ground AFTER first passing post through fence and gate supports. Also note: 1) depending upon rocks, soil hardness, etc, placement into ground may require prep initially with sturdier metal 'bore' or small gauge metal stake hammered into ground to make hole first; rebar is probably too large for this purpose. If the problem is just hard soil, wet the ground sufficiently night before. 2) In particular, the post that supports the side of the garden gate functioning as the hinge may benefit from or require additional support, as might be obtained using a 5' (60") Steel Garden Fence U-Post widely available most hardware stores (usually painted green); placed into ground as closely together as feasible, then this arrower 56" post product can be secured to the larger steel post - AFTER the gate and post are placed. This process is particularly true in softer soil. Even if larger steel post is needed for support, this product is still a good value, again particularly if used with the fence panels and gate for which designed. This post product would likely prove cost-effective means to KEEP SMALL ANIMALS OUT OF GARDEN, used with light weight animal webbing.
