The pruning shears are great. I tried them on all types of plants and branches from soft to hard wood. I pruned plants, rose bushes and small branches (3/8 inch). The loppers did a great job for things to big for the pruners. These are small loppers, so if you are trimming large branches (over 1.25 inches) you will need bigger loppers.
Great value for comfortable, SHARP Loppers and SHARP Shears. The handles are comfortable and fits well in your hands. With this set I'm able to handle just about anything in my yardwork. These lops allowed me to cut branches up to 3" in diameter. The Shears and spring loaded and very sturdy and both seem to be as good or better than the more established brands. I highly recommend both of these tools in this set. A must have for every gardener or weekend warrior.
I was a little skeptical at first whether or not I was going to be able to use this set of garden shears due to my disabilities. But it was as easy as cutting a piece of paper with a pair of scissors! I figured I would have to use both hands to apply pressure when clipping branches, but I did not have to. I was able to use one hand (for the small handheld shears) and had no issue whatsoever. The larger ones I figured I would have to squeeze really hard to cut through, but not at all! It cut so easily and smooth with no effort! I was so very happy. I live alone and I am disabled. I do not have a lot of help from others, so this will make things a lot easier on me. I highly recommend this to everyone.
Received the products quickly. They are of high quality. Easy on the hands. I consider myself as others do, a master gardener. They were put to good use right away and performed flawlessly. They certainly are for the amateur gardener and professional alike . Ihighly recommend these products.
The small hand pruners are comfortable in my hand...they have a nice weight to them but are not " heavy"...The sliding locking mechanism is smooth. The blades easily cut off the dead branches of my outside plants. The longer handle pruners helped with me not having to bend down as much to cut off a branch. They appear to be well made- Bolts and a good weight metal. They open and close with ease. They cut with little effort. There is no " cushion" on the hand grips but they have a " no slip " grip.
I used the to help clean up from a wind storm that knocked down a few branch. The handle is sturdy and easy to cut through plants or branches. I wouldn't use them to cut more than an inch thick branch. Overall worth the price.
These are great for the hands and working close to the shrubs. Fast and Sharp. They are worth the money$
This set is really nice!! Not too heavy so will be easier for me to use when doing yard work.
The shears feel very solid and seem well made. The mechanisms are stiff, but guessing they will loosen over time. The issue is mostly the length of the handle, You will need to get pretty close to whatever you are cutting, and you won't have much leverage with the handle length. But I think it will be good for close up work where I don't need to get too close to the ground or too high in the air. For this reason I gave it a 4,because it may not work well for you depending on circumstances.
The distance of the handles on handheld pruning shears are very far apart. It may work well for people with larger hands, mine are x- small to small based on latex gloves that I fit. So the handles are so far apart that it is difficult for me to use with one handed operation. I barely can reach the other side of the handle to grasp it and close it. I even tried sticking my pinky in the hole at the end of the handle and it was very tricky to get a stable grip on it. As for the branch cutter, it was a nice size and very lightweight. It definitely would work for females because the one that my husband owns is super heavy at the tip and when I reach up high to cut branches my whole arm starts to tremble and shake after I'm done. With this branch cutter, it's shorter and so light that I don't struggle with reaching up and trying to balance the weight before cutting. So I really like the branch cutter. The only thing was I had to add some oil to the gears on the branch cutter because it was so hard to open and close when I received it. But after oiling, it works great.
