The mashed potatoes taste like real mashed potatoes and there's adequate cheese on them that you taste the cheese. The BBQ sauce is sweet, not hot or spicy and the green pepper in the meatloaf is large enough to be seen yet small enough that it's not over powering. Lastly, it was filling for this grandmother. I don't believe it would be adequate for a mans dinner but could work for lunch with drinks, fruit, etc. Worth the price compared to Mrs. Callender's and Stouffer's meatloaf and mashed potatoes.
This Yellowstone meatloaf w/BBQ sauce and mash is amazing. We are so impressed. I have ordered it 4 times and enjoy it each time. We have also tried 2 other dinners from Yellowstone, they are amazing too. BBQ sauce is delicious. Generous portions, great flavor, and homemade taste. We prepared it in the oven. Try it you will love it.
probably the best frozen meatloaf I've ever had. never watched "yellowstone" but now i might. it's a bbq- type sauce on the meatloaf - you get two patties - and the potatoes are fantastic. wish the price was a little lower, or they offered "by the case" discounts... there's always several in my freezer now.
Frozen dinners can be palatable, but mostly there’s a heavily processed and generically bland taste to them. It’s like the taste testers are afraid of taking a stand. Well, there’s a new player in the frozen foods aisle! This meal tastes fresh and vibrant. Yellowstone embraces flavor, and I’m grateful for it. This actually tastes like barbecue. Yellowstone, and especially this meal, has become my go-to. Yum!
I wasn’t expecting barbecue sauce but it was a nice surprise. Meatloaf was really good. Loved the green peppers and the mashed potatoes were delicious. I put extra cheese on it because of what other reviews said and I’m glad I went by their suggestion. I think it was a good price if you can afford it. Remember you could get at least two meals out of it. I will definitely buy this again when available.
Just okay. Meatloaf is fairly flavorless and swimming in BBQ sauce. I’m not impressed. Potatoes were dry and lumpy. I added butter to them to help with the dryness. I normally like Yellowstone dinners, but this one leaves a lot to desired. To pay this much for this particular meal is way overpriced. Save some money with Stouffer’s.
I love meatloaf, especially Stouffer's frozen meatloaf with mashed potatoes. (That even has green peppers diced into the patty.) This however is different. Two patties that are tough, actually requiring a knife to eat. A knife for meatloaf?? The sauce which others have said was too sweet was just fine, in fact, the best part of this dish. The mashed potatoes had a creamy texture, except for the stringy cheese melted into them. It's apparently cheddar cheese, but it chewed like mozzarella. How to ruin a good side. Meatloaf lovers, look elsewhere. Save your money and just get Stouffer's.
No matter how much bbq sauce you slop on here, it's still discusting. The meat is coarsely ground and is lumps of rock. The potatoes don't even resemble the taste of potatoes. Odd taste. I remember having instants better than this garbage. These frozen dinners just keep getting worse in taste, quality and size of product. Time to start cooking everyday!
Nothing about this is meatloaf. The two small patties are no longer than the tines of my fork. They are basically the consistency of 2 pieces of compressed partial board slathered in half a bottle of BBQ sauce that closely resembles the sauce on a McDonald’s McRib. I don’t taste anything resembling beef if anything it’s closer to a pork or even spam flavor. But it’s hard to tell because of all the sauce. I am home bound do to injuries so I had to order this from the Walmart app. The pictures misrepresent the size of the meal. I expected a meal the size of a the Hungry Man dinners. This is close to those small lean cuisine meals. I stupidly didn’t check the sodium content. At 1530mg it’s the closest thing that makes it like something you would find on a cattle and horse ranch. It’s like the salt lick we place in a horses stall. This literally topped me out for my sodium intake for the day and part of the next day in one meal. The mashed potatoes with cheese are blah. Once again all you get is that BBQ sauce because there has to be half a bottle in the meal to cover up the lack of any real food product. I rarely eat these things but do on occasion when I’m not able to make something. I would have been better off not eating this than eating this.
This is a chemical bomb in a plastic tray. i read thd ingredient lineup. this is not food. the meats texture is like rubberized dirt. it is not meat. the bbq sauce is nasty. the potatoes are something like a boxed potato mixup. nothing about this meal is real food. buyer beware.
