amazing! cuts through my 40 sheet stack like butter, and theres plenty of safety features so im fairly confident using it. it is basically a giant block of metal, so its sturdy and i feel like a real professional using it. this will be great for all my book binding needs.
This punch works very well and is built for heavy duty use, but it is not very friendly to what ever surface you put it on. First, it weight is fairly heavy and the metal is not very finished on the bottom with edges that can damage table tops. Even though it has small feet to keep the bottom from touching the surface, I put it on a rubber mouse pad and bingo, it is perfect.
The paper cutter is lightweight but very sturdy. The 'foot' that holds the paper in place beside the blade is a definite plus.
It's a beautiful beast. It's astounding to me every time that it cuts thru a stack of 400 sheets. Very heavy. Smooth moving parts. Awesome finish and clear markings. 3 weeks in and many stacks cut, so far so good.
Works well for my limited use.
Six months after I got this, the self-sharpening blade is still working great. Though it didn look exactly like the one in the picture, it works well for my purposes of cutting photos and home projects.
Cutter came in missing a rubber foot and the packaging was lackadaisical.
Does not cut straight. After cutting the paper with this cutter, my prints came out misaligned. I did a test with another cutter, and the prints came out perfect. After taking a good look at this machine, I realized that it was not cutting straight. I lost a lot of material.
The lever handle prevents the cutter from closing without pressure. The handle protrudes and appears as though they should have made it shorter or the actual lever longer. May be bent out of shape after a time which would prevent its cutting the paper. It also appears as though someone has had it before me. Some print in worn off in addition to the various scuff marks. Refund is being handled by Walmart and the seller.
The blade sucks it warps and/or bends easily under little stress over only six months of very Rare usage and good storing conditions. It was fine for a short period of time or I didnt pay close enough attention upon delivery. Until today I was only cutting small origami paper squares. I went to cut larger squares today and noticed the blade no longer cuts properly. There is a significant gap. See attached photo. I wish I would have soent the extra $10 for something nicer.
