Needed crossbars for my canoe, these fit the Ford well enough to get the job done. I do take them off however for long trips-like all cross bars they are noisy and increase drag on my inefficient giant SUV which I drive in order to carry my work equipment.
Fits perfectly on my Subaru. Looks good, no noise.
They work
These are nice overall however the locks on the end are super cheap and could be just pulled off with a pair of pliers one broke while putting it on everything else is great about them
They are as good as they look. Plastic and aluminum. If you are laying flat items and roping them down, they are fine within their weight limits. If you want to put kayak racks on top - No! When any twist is applied these bars begin to give. They are plastic vice grips that attach to your car. The locks work, but are useless. But for quick "I need to throw it on top of the car" - they are fine.
Applied to a 2002 Jeep Liberty. Took a while to get the bars to grip firmly onto the roof rack but after fingers going numb cheated with a pair of vice grips. The end caps with locks are poorly designed and manufactured, if you are worried about theft do not get these. As far as strength I purchased these to transport two 19foot wood kayaks and have no worries of them being able to hold the weight. For the price of under $50 they are worth it in my opinion
worked well but one of the clamp things broke after only on season of use.. not sure if I can just get a new peice for it or not. For the price they do the job!
The roof rack more than satisfactory BUT installation packet DID NOT contain metric Allen wrench NECESSARY for installation. I called Jet, and their solution was to send me a set of metric Allen wrenches so that I could install the roof rack. Wrenches arrived, but are TOO SHORT, unlike the wrench pictured in installation packet. They will not work! I have a roof rack I am unable to install!!
Very POORLY made! As me and my aunt were traveling on vacation last week. We were heading down a 4 lane hwy and the end of one of the cross bars popped off which sent my kayaks sailing into the air!! Then landing in the median of a VERY busy freeway! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I have contacted this company giving them all the details. I doubt I ever hear back from them till I get a lawyer. This could have cause a horrible accident and ended very badly. However God was watching over us and no one was hurt in them mess. These look strudy, but they are NOT, the whole end popped off, it is not supposed to come off at all, even when installing. DO NOT TRUST THIS EQUIPMENT.
First of all it came with a damaged end and then the end pieces with the lock were terribly made and I could not get them to fit or work. The lock kept falling apart and the key would not work . Not very well made.
