Awesome piece of kit for bulb planting or dandelion and other weed removal from lawns. Easy to assemble, solidly made with no moving parts and a breeze to use. Makes 2, 4 or 6 inch deep holes depending on setting and removes a compact plug of soil effortlessly just by stepping on the foot bar. The soil plugs work their way up the inside of the steel tube, after three plugs the first one falls out and when you're finished you just push the last two out manually. Drop in the bulbs, push the soil plugs back in on top and when you're finished, water the area well. Job done in no time with minimal bending.
This is the best tool I've used for cutting plugs of zoysia grass and replanting in other areas of my 2 acres. I use the deep ring for cutting plugs then the shallow ring for replanting them and squish down with my foot to fill the hole.
I have found this instrument to be very valuable. I have a lot in my yard to transplant such as grass plugs to help create a better appearing yard. I can also use it for daffodils and tulips to take them up redo them. So many more creative things to do with the plugger/planter. It is of great value for low cost.
This is an awsome tool for planting bulbs. Well worth the money, very easy to use.
it is so well built for me in my 70s it is a bit too heavy. if I was a youthful strong person it would be great but I am not and might need a golf cart just to roll it around the yard .
Works okay
one of the screws on the handle was miss threaded, had to have someone rethread it, also the same thing happened on the middle screw , it was also miss threaded but in the end, it is now together and i need it so am keeping it.
This item was defective. It was missing an essential screw to work. I contacted seller, who was responsive, and seemed to indicate he would supply the screw. After some days I contacted again without results. I then wrote that I would send back for refund.I got a text from vendor today trying to sell me other products of theirs. I am really indignant toward Walmart for choosing vendors who sell poor quality control merchandise. This is a waste of my time having to take apart and pact for return. The other frustrating issue is, I have to pay the return shipping, and this is a defective item. This would never happen at Amazon. Walmart needs to review their return policy when item is damaged or defective. I am very disappointed. These third party vendors need to be vetted better.
Broken hole digger and opened cinnamon sticks.
