Yoga Burn is a great video. I know many people like to watch fitness videos online, but I really love owning my own DVD video and using it whenever I want. Rodney Yee is an amazing instructor. Not only is he super knowledgeable, but he also explains all the yoga moves and how they help you. The yoga moves are challenging and feel great. I sometimes sweat when holding poses because I just don't use those muscles. This video offers a great challenge while helping me build muscle memory to build a foundation for future, more complex yoga moves. Rodney radiates a beautiful, calm, therapeutic energy; I could literally lie on the floor and listen to him talk. Great yoga video.
This is one of my favorite yoga practices. All of Rodney Yee's products are easy to follow but challenging. That's what I look for in a workout..the challenge!
Have nerve pain throughout my body. The 50 minute session helps me with my pain. I am loyal. I do this every morning 5 days a week. I have more energy and less pain. I started with the beginners session and worked my way up.
I only got through one half of this practice. I was absolutely engaged to be one with the breath and the movement. Rodney's form and demonstration bring me to new focus on my own body movement and I found an incredible state of mind and body.
This is the BEST yoga video I have ever seen! It helps tone muscles and it is so meditative! I HIGHLY recommend it to those who are all different levels. You can build up your strength at your own pace. I have personally given this DVD as a gift to at least five (5) other people!
I've loved every Rodney Yee DVD I've purchased, but this one takes the cake. The workout is well paced, comprehensive, and really makes you sweat! I liked the variety of the moves, and by the end I was working hard and looking forward to relaxing! Great purchase!
I just added this to my Rodney Yee and Suzanne Deason DVD;s. I loved the workout-as challenging as you want to make it and helps me stay centered and focused. Rodney Yee DVD's have helped me restart my life in such a positive way during and after an excrutiating divorce. I am now more fit and balanced than ever in my life, and excited about the possibilities opening up before me. I know I wouldn't be where I am today without the benefits of daily morning practice (I figured if I couldn't sleep I might as well get up and do yoga. I can sleep now, but will never give up my morning practice, every day. I wish I could thank Rodney in person for how much he has helped me. I'm sorry, I can't help getting a little emotional about the positive influences he has had.
I got this DVD,hoping for more intense exercise. I found that the yoga is so flowing, it's actually meditative for me too, plus keeps my muscles working; strengthening and de stressing, all in one Actually, someone else mentioned "hypnotic"....it is...the time flies by and when you're done, your muscles have had a workup and you are all de-stressed. Awesome DVD.
This is simply one of the Best, most elevating yoga practices I have ever done. Very meaningful, and thoughtful as the movements are slow and methodical. Let's put it this way, I had three 7 year old boys playing in my home as I did my practice. During Savasna, I fell ASLEEP from the contentment and the warmth of my body after doing this amazing practice for approximately 20 minutes! This is a MUST at least once a week, to truly refocus and regain the serenity that yoga gives you in its highest form. AMAZING!!!! A TRUE GIFT FOR A BUSY MOM!
This is a beautiful, mindful, and potentially powerful yoga practice. It is true that there are no big surprise poses in this sequence--all are well-known, fairly basic level poses. The main audio option contains some instruction, but mostly about moving into and out of the poses; there is not much about alignment within the pose. Complete beginners may need more instruction and modifications than available here. The other audio option omits instruction at all, containing only prompts for moving from one pose to another. The basic poses, simple instruction, and deemphasis on speed makes this dvd a good place for advanced beginners who have some knowledge of the poses to deepen their understanding of them, and for anyone, irrespective of level, to work on the mindful awareness aspect of their yoga practice. The intensity in this dvd comes, not from speed or difficulty of poses, but from deep, slow, conscious repetition of fundamental asanas, with the time to build awareness of movement into, within, and out of them. Yoga is not meant to be a purely physical activity. The awareness aspect of yoga is rightfully considered advanced practice, and the familiar poses presented here allow the mind to take precedence. The point is not merely physical endurance (though, if done right, this sequence will also challenge the body in that way). The purpose is at least twofold: physically, to develop long and lean muscle through slow repetition of simple postures, and mentally, to use the simplicity of the poses as a platform for developing presence and awareness with each pose. Yoga is, after all, about the mind-body connection, and this practice aims at allowing the time and space for working on this crucial element. For those ready to move their yoga practice beyond the physical dimension while still developing the body, this is a lovely practice dvd. The asanas are presented in small cycles of three poses or so with about three repetitions each, so it is hard to present an exact sequence, but here is a list of poses, roughly as they appear in the practice: Staff, Flying Crossed Legged Pose, Cobbler, Half Boat, Boat, Simple Crossed Leg Twist, Cat, Down Dog, Plank, Cobra, Single-legged Down Dog, Triangle, Warrior 2, Standing Forward Bend, Chair, Standing Side Stretch, Warrior 1 and 2, Low Lunge with backbend, Low lunge with hands in reverse prayer, Bow, Cobbler with forward bend, Head to Knee forward bend, Wide Angle forward bend series, Seated Forward Bend, Back Stretch, Reclined Bent Knee Twist, Bridge, Reclined Leg Stretch, Reclined Crossed Leg to Chest, Corpse.
