This was a Christmas gift for my DIL. She had not made a specific request other than a DVD for yoga during pregnancy. She was pleased when she opened it and it seemed to meet her expectations. Originally I received a text preparing me for the fact that it would not arrive in time for Christmas. I was going to have to scramble to have a replacement since in our rural area items such as this are not routinely kept in stock in stores. Well I was thrilled when the following day I was notified that it was ready for pick up.
I was a little nervous to buy a yoga DVD, I didn't think yoga was for me because of past experiences I had with it. After trying it out, I found that I absolutely love this DVD! I use it everyday and love it, it is perfect for beginners and also for those who may have more experience. Before, I found yoga uncomfortable but this program is very gentle and relaxing and can be used all the way through the third trimester and labor, with a separate program for after you give birth. I really love the exercises it teaches to relieve the common aches of pregnancy and to help you be more comfortable during labor. It also teaches breathing and meditation techniques that I believe will be very useful. I found this to be well worth my money and will reccomend this to all my friends and family!
I am not a yoga person. I have always done pilates, but most pilates are done on your back. So I thought I would switch the yoga during my pregnancy. I love this dvd. I have done it at least once a day since I got it and sometimes twice. I love it. I might be a yoga person after all.
I have found since the beginning of my pregnancy I have wanted to stay in shape and include yoga in my routine, but find myself awkward in gyms and big group classes. I decided to try this video at home, and I was pleasantly surprised. They break down the routines, and even have one for before you go to bed at night. It is so relaxing, and all of the girls on the video know exactly what they are doing (sometimes you can notice the people on workout videos looking lost or at eachother during the workouts). The instructor's voice is clear and it is all very easy to follow. I reccomend this video for all women, at all stages of pregnancy.
This yoga video has helped me feel more comfortable about and ready for labor and delivery! My husband also does it with me and he really enjoys it. The video gives alternative movements for anyone who might be new to yoga or so pregnant they can't move the same way anymore. I love this video and feel so much better every time we do it!
I bought this to help with breathing and relaxation. I have only used it once and I love it. The positions are fairly simple and I was relaxed and ready for bed in no time.
From the description, and reviews I thought this was going to be yoga that would give good deep stretches to those muscles that hurt carrying this load around (I'm only 4 months just trying to think ahead) I was excited for the breathing technics, I never took Lamaze with my first kid regretted it! When it got here I was so excited I have a very manual labor type job and couldn't wait to stretch! When I put it in, we did breathing then pelvic tilts, about a min into pelvic tilts I found myself yelling "alright lets move on!" then something else minor, some thigh stretches, my eyes were rolling, my temper spiking. I felt like giving this dvd away. It was not what I wanted, it was very in touch with your inner self/baby, I just wanted to alleviate back pains, tense muscles find my zen. When I finished after what seemed like two real yoga poses (and I'm no yoga queen) I said your going to try it a few more times, you will not just give it away, maybe when your bigger it will help more. Then I realized how much better my lower back felt, and my stomach. The next day I could feel the difference in my legs, felt like my blood was flowing so much better. I couldn't wait to do it again! I like how there are 3 different ladies, in different stages of pregnancy, that show you the different variations of the poses. So you can find what is most comfortable for you
Great video. Shows multiple ways to do poses to be comfy. Relaxing and easy to follow. Great for a beginner yoga person like me :-)
I enjoy using this video. The background music is relaxing and the instructor is excellent. There are two pregnant moms featured, one in her first trimester who has not done yoga before and the other in her third trimester who is experienced with yoga. There is even a short segment on which yoga poses are helpful during labor.
great for beginners to yoga
