These are games from the 90s and 2000s and some have slightly different rules and play styles so not for newer players
As a fan, this game is the perfect collection of the games I played growing up. I have put many hours into the original, but having all of them in one place is amazing.
This game is so fun. im a huge Yugioh! nerd and when i saw this game at gamestop i needed it. unfortunately, it was sold out at gamestop and about 75 bucks if you could find it. so when i found out they had it at my local walmart i snatched it up super quick. it's really fun, and i like how they added the option to read the manuals (you have to read them, because all they did was transfer the original versions to the switch, so that means no tutorials. it makes it feel more immersive imo).
So let me get this out of the way for the parents or grandparents whose family member under 30 plays yugioh save your money as all the games that came out were way before what modern yugioh is today and even when they did they used different rules that even when they came out at the time weren't the standard yugioh rules. most wouldn't know how to play and probably wouldnt take the time to learn. plus if you have young children and you are scared of swallowing the small cartridge Nintendo puts a horrible tasting thing on the metal to discourage it. to anyone who is a yugioh boomer like me these games are a blast from the past and includes the covers as they were then and the manuals as they were then. As the time of writing no online play for any of the games besides yugioh 4 battle of great duelists. which given that almost a third of the collection dark duel stories being essentially the same game most of these games to my recollection had vs mode and would have been easy to implement and add value to the game. there is also translated games that were only available in japan so its a plus. all the games are the handheld gameboy games so no duelist of the roses. The physical new copies xome with one of two version of harpey's feather duster which is nice. but these games controls are clunky and they don't do a great job for teaching new players. i would recommend getting the physical copy because as the switch 2 is coming and Nintendo will eventually end support for the digital storefront and you like keeping retro games this is the best course. The price is steep for what is offered but if you are like me and hoping the success of this will inspire konami to rerelease the console yugioh games then i would encourage your purchase. though the games do have a save feature, the ability to remove deck limits and to rewind to undue bad moves but otherwise its the same
Excellent game, the kids love it!
Fun game plus you get a really cool card with it.
Good like game great yugioh is my favorite start 5-5
I'm very satisfied with my purchase though I'm a little disappointed about the fact it didn't come with the promo card of harpies feather duster but it would explain the discount
$50 is kind of expensive for a collection of roms, but at least you get a physical card to go with it. If you want to buy digitally I'd definitely wait for a sale. The set of games included is good, and there's quality of life enhancements you can optionally apply to the games. (Like adding a copy of every card to your trunk.) Not all games have online play. Which makes sense for the games that never had VS mode to begin with, like Sacred Cards. But would have been nice to see for Eternal Duelist Soul or a couple other games. Lastly, while the title of this collection is "Early Days", it really means "Early Nintendo Days", since it's all Gameboy / Gameboy Advance games. So I think a lot of people will be disappointed with games like Forbidden Memories not being included.
Item was not new. Was resealed
