The outlet I wanted to extend began making noises when I plugged it in.I had to stop. That is not the extender's fault, though. The outlet is just so dang old it doesn't even resemble an outlet and it is so stupid it is built onto the baseboard. Praying the contractor will update it so I can use my appliances on this shelf. It's a great product. I just can't use it, yet. I am keeping it, though, for later. was a good little investment. The only drawback was it is 3 prong. That meant adding a piece to convert it to 2 prong, which made it stick out an inch from the wall. Make sure you are buying it to plug into a 3 prong outlet and you'll be gold. Hopefully, the contractor will add a 3 prong outlet, soon. This house was built in 1951.

Great item that allows me to use outlet behind couch without having to move the couch in/out. Will probably buy more for other places in house

Product does not stay straight up. As soon as you plug it in, it just falls to the either side and puts tension on the outlet itself. Do not recommend
