I felt this was much safer than the heat lamp. The temperature setting was WAY off from what it said, but using the regular thermometer, I got it where I wanted it, and then just adjusted it one degree lower each day as the chicks grew. It says not to wash it, and that was not a reality. The chicks started hopping up on it and it needed to be washed - I just waited until they no longer needed it and of course it was unplugged and cooled off and I did not immerse it in water. I also saved the cover for the remote battery and put it back in when I stored it. I hope to get many more years of use out of it.
This was so easy to use and takes away the work and concern of heat lamps and baby chicks. I do have concern about how long it will be in his working order because it's all plastic.
I am very pleased with this heater. It kept my chicks nice %26 warm %26 is very SAFE! I can hold my hand on the heater without getting burned, no worries of fires. my chicks have out grown it now, but I will be using it again next spring
It's great. I've been using it for my chicks this spring. The cleaning is okay, the plastic cover makes it easier. Assembly is easy, just plug it in and set the temperature. It hasn't failed me
I love that it can be put at an angle so different size chicks can go in it. My chicks was always awake with the lights and they got too hot. I worried about the lights catching fire and u don't have to worry about that with this product.
Very simple and user friendly straight out of the box. Chicks took to it instantly. Can adjust the height as needed. I feel a lot safer with this design verses using a heat lamp.
Easy to use. directions simple. the only downside is twisting in the poles. Some are tighter and are harder to twist.
