Zanzibar Marine Complex Age-Defy & Color Protect Shampoo

So glad I forgot my toiletry bag on a trip out of town earlier this year and discovered SM products on sale at Target, including this shampoo. I'd had problems with flaky, itchy, irritated scalp for most of my life - even tried the shampoo-free regimen for a while - but after maybe a month of using this shampoo and the Yucca & Plantain Masque, with a little of the Zanzibar Marine leave-in conditioner, my scalp is SO SO happy. No flakes, no itching. My thick, wavy hair is much softer too, and I can run my fingers through it without tangling! The scent is fresh, clean, and makes me feel like I'm in a beach house. I also love the body wash and lotion in this line. All so good.

I almost didn't try this shampoo because I do not dye my hair, nor am I at the age to worry about defying it :) Also, I am normally scared away by things like seaweed or marine in shampoo. It just sounds so gross! But am I so glad I tried it anyway! This shampoo is amazing. It smells heavenly (not like seaweed at all!). And somehow Shea Moisture found that perfect balance between moisturizing and not leaving your hair weighed down. Incredible! I would highly recommend this shampoo to everyone! If it can work wonders for thick, wavy hair like mine than it should be great for anyone!

I have blonde hair and it can get get dry from coloring it and everyday wear and tear. This shampoo with the conditioner is A-mazing! I've used almost every line in the Shea moisture lines and this one is in my top three. I'm hoping it stays! I recommend!

This line has done wonders for my hair. It's moisturizing, but never heavy, and it smells amazing. I have naturally curly hair that I often heat style, so it can be difficult to keep it looking healthy, and nothing else has made my hair so healthy and manageable. I definitely feel like it makes my hair color (black) look more vibrant. This SM line can be pretty hard to find in stores, and now it's out of stock on the website. I hope they don't intend to discontinue it!

This shampoo is very creamy and lathers really well. The smell is okay, fresh and clean. Overall got the scalp clean and scent lasted for a while.

I love so many of the Shea moisture products. This shampoo is one of my favorites! I didn't try it for a while because of the idea of the marine complex. I knew it was good for me......but I can't even detect it in the scent. In fact it smells amazing! Black pearl protein, aloe, cucumber--somehow it works to make a super relaxing, pleasant smell. And it is very moisturizing and healing without weighing down my hair. I would recommend it to everyone. Not just for colored hair. My kids love it too. My daughter has curly hair and it makes it more manageable. I am in love with it as a body wash too. It is sheer bliss. :)

It leaves your hair incredibly soft, it feels as if you used conditioner to wash. I really love it !

This is by far my favorite shampoo in the Shea Moisture brand, and it's the one I reach for again and again. It lathers really well for a sulfate free shampoo. At the same time, it has a nice slip, and moisturizes my 2C/3A waves and curls without weighing them down. (The conditioner has wonderful slip, too.) Fragrances in shampoo sometimes give me an itchy scalp. This one doesn't, and I think that's because the fragrance (essential oils) are low on the list. Please don't ever discontinue this wonderful line!!

The consistency of this shampoo was different than others I've tried from Shea Moisture. It is very creamy, almost like a co-wash. It will provide a very gentle cleansing.
