I am not normally one that thinks that a frozen ready to cook meal is ever good. But I have to honestly say I was surprised with the flavor and texture of Zatarain's. It was a breeze to make and was ready in no time, rich and creamy texture with plenty of flavor with just the right amount of kick.

This meal doesn't taste frozen at all. It's amazing and so flavorful. The chicken pieces are big and don't taste rubbery like some frozen chicken gets. My family is always on the go with sports and activities and I don't always have time to cook. Zatarains Cajun Chicken Carbonara is great. The sauce is creamy with a little kick, and not too spicy for the wimps in our crew. It has great flavor without being too heavy, and it tastes great with some extra veggies added in. The quality of the dinner was great. All components of the meal cooked evenly and blended together nicely. The instructions were easy to follow, and the meal took the advertised amount of time to prepare. My only concern, albeit minor, was the level of spice. Zatarain's has a reputation for cajun spices. However, this dish had little spice and could almost pass as an Italian dish instead of Cajun.

I actually really liked this. It has a nice Cajun kick, but it's not overly spicy. It felt more elevated than a typical frozen pasta meal. The portion size is great for a quick family dinner and it was super easy to make. My only small complaint is that I wish there was more chicken mixed in & less over seasoning. We added leftover chicken to add more protein.

Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the meal but I made this meal and it was so good. I know it's good when my kids tell me they love it because they will let me know if something isn't . I added extra seasonings to make this super spicy and added shrimp . I would definitely recommend and purchase this again.

The Zatarain's Cajun chicken carbonara was extremely easy to make on the stovetop straight from the freezer. I even was able to let it sit and heat up without my direct attention while I completed other tasks. It was creamy and had just enough sauce in my opinion. The pasta had good texture; it didn't get mushy or stick together. The Cajun seasonings ere great, just a mild level of spiciness. The only thing I didn't like was the chicken texture, which was exactly like any other store bought frozen meal that contains chicken. It's just not for me. I liked the pasta and enjoyed that when I picked the chicken out. If you're someone who is okay with other frozen meals containing chicken then I'd say go tie it! Otherwise plan on picking out the chicken.
