The Cajun empire strikes back.

Andy May 9, 2026

I bought this Zatarain's Blackened Chicken Alfredo expecting the usual frozen-food experience: mild disappointment, emotional emptiness, and maybe one suspicious noodle fused into a pasta iceberg by industrial freezer technology. What I got instead was apparently a five-star Cajun pasta experience forged by flavor scientists operating deep beneath the Louisiana bayou under government supervision. The first bite hit me so hard I had to pause the TV and reevaluate every life decision that led to me not eating this sooner. I've spent actual money at restaurants for meals that tasted like wet cardboard wearing a Parmesan costume, meanwhile this glorious 24-ounce plastic bag of frozen wizardry strolls into my kitchen acting like Gordon Ramsay personally blessed it with Cajun magic and a slap on the butt. The sauce? Thick, creamy, rich, and smoother than a used car salesman explaining why the check engine light is “probably nothing.” The blackened seasoning has just enough kick to remind you that Louisiana exists, but not enough to make you start hallucinating jazz music and wrestling alligators in your living room. The chicken pieces actually tasted like real chicken too, which in frozen meal terms is basically modern science achieving cold fusion. And let's discuss the pasta quantity. Twenty-four ounces. TWENTY-FOUR. In today's economy companies usually sell you six noodles and a motivational quote for $9. Here comes Zatarain's kicking open the freezer door like a drunk Cajun superhero yelling, “Nah baby, we FEEDIN' people tonight.” This meal made me emotional. At one point I was standing over the stove eating directly from the pan like a raccoon that discovered Italian culture. My dog Zoey stared at me with concern because I kept muttering things like, “They finally did it… they finally perfected frozen Alfredo.” Honestly if civilization collapses tomorrow, I hope archaeologists uncover a bag of this and understand we weren't complete failures as a species. The best part is how aggressively unnecessary the flavor is for a frozen meal. Whoever developed this recipe absolutely overdid it. Somebody in the Zatarain's test kitchen clearly lost a marriage, stopped fearing authority, and dedicated their remaining years entirely to seasoning pasta with reckless abandon. Respect. I'm now suspicious of all other frozen foods. Why can this exist while other meals taste like somebody whispered “chicken” into hot milk and poured it over sadness? This Alfredo has ruined my standards permanently. I may never emotionally recover from the realization that a frozen bag meal has brought me more happiness than several major life events. 10/10. Would absolutely buy again. Would probably defend it in court.

A staple for dinner in my home just pop some Greens on the side I also add those mini creamer potatoes straight from roasting I chop them and add them on top or side cut up em and buttered they mix in so well it reminds me of the meal we made at show palace dinner theatre and they r closed so thankfully I crave it and can make it easily with this <3

Fast, easy, and so good!

Becky December 18, 2025

This is one of our favorites! It's so easy and fast to make and it tastes like you were cooking forever lol I add broccoli sometimes and have breadsticks and/or corn on the cob and some green salad. My hubby asks me to make it all the time and he loves it so much that when I had surgery on my foot and couldn't put weight on it for a couple months he was on meal duty and he actually made this almost daily haha! I didn't mind i was just glad he was cooking! It's not hard to make or anything and he can cook some things, but he just usually doesn't..

Delicious, but expensive.

ELIZA April 16, 2026

So I'm like. Hooked on the single meal? But umm, I got this. Feed me and my son and it was plenty. It was amazing and just extra good on not being microwaved. The cheese tasted. Delicious. The noodles tasted better and I absolutely love the. The microwave 1 so this was quite a treat. I wish it was like half the price. So that's why I'm giving it. Lower stars. I think they're too much. I mean, it is just noodles, right? And some cheese? And some chicken. Chicken's good. But if four people had one in your home, that's at $16.00, you know, Or about 20 bucks for a microwavable dinner. It's too much.

So easy to cook, and delicious!

Laci March 3, 2026

I love how easy these are to throw together. They are absolutely delicious and the perfect texture. I have tried the larger boxes from Sam's club that you have to heat in the oven, and the texture is just off. So I prefer to just buy the smaller bags and have to replace more often. Honestly no seasoning is needed at all. It tastes perfect on its own!

Best frozen pasta, you have to try it!

Leslie March 1, 2026

Skip the expensive Italian meal out! This is such a great tasting pasta. One of my family's absolute favorite. A delicious dinner in minutes and you don't sacrifice taste. I don't even order pasta when I'm out anymore because I know I can get it at home with Zatarain's!

the blackened chicken is so good. youd think you got this from a resturant. short on time and want a good dinner this is it. takes 10 mins to cook in the microwave. does not taste like it. my husband always wants seconds. they are seriously amazing for being a microwave food. the blackened shrimp is amazing as well.

Fast, easy and Saucy

Sara June 25, 2026

My husband and kids like it a lot. There is plenty of sauce so that is nice. It does take longer to make that the package says, but it's still an easy meal. I also do not recommend cooking on high and covering and only occasionally stirring. It will stick to the bottom of the pan. It's a good tasting quick easy meal.

GROSS!

FrozenNorth January 20, 2026

There's a weird sweetness to it that's hard to put your finger on but it's sickening. Literally. Here I am up in the middle of the night, trying to help others avoid the stomach issues I'm experiencing after eating only a single bite, hours ago. Maybe I just got a bad package, but I'll never chance it again.
