I received this product at no cost through Walmart's reviewer program in exchange for my honest review. We've only had the chance to test this surge protector on the 30-amp RV power pedestal at our house so far, but our first impression has been very positive. The unit feels solid and well made, and all of the connections fit snugly into both the power pedestal and our camper. The display was one of our favorite features. It was bright, easy to read, and showed real-time information about the incoming voltage and our power usage, which was both helpful and reassuring. One of the main reasons we wanted an RV surge protector was for the added peace of mind. We've heard plenty of stories about campground power damaging RV electrical systems, so having a device that monitors the incoming power before it reaches the camper is a nice extra layer of protection. The only negative we've noticed is the clear protective cover over the plug. It doesn't feel quite as sturdy as the rest of the unit, and I could see it eventually breaking off with repeated storage and travel. That said, it's a fairly minor concern and doesn't appear to affect the function of the surge protector itself. Overall, we're very happy with it so far and are looking forward to putting it to the test on upcoming camping trips. (%26 although I got this for free- I had actually had my eye on getting one %26 I feel like this was a good price for a quality unit!)
Worked perfectly for our 30 amp rv. We had a surge that burned up the voltage converter a few weeks ago because I kept putting off getting a surge protector. This one arrived a day early which is always a plus. It is heavy and seems to be of good quality. The connection is tight at both plugs so I'm happy. Hopefully I will never have to find out how well it works!
We get brown outs all the time. Our camper is the only thing we haven't protected, so we leave it unplugged when not inuse. Now we can plug it in and not chance losing our appliances again.
Perfectly bubble wrapped in shipping box. Arrived early. No cuts nor scratches. True customer focus.
great addition to my rv. seems to work as necessary and described
Works as intended and well built. Keeps the RV safe from electrical problems.
I was very impressed with the unit and it worked after a few automated calibrations that the two units did internally and provided automatic readings correctly thereafter. After just several minutes both of the units were able to read all the electrical inputs/outputs (I think) perfectly based on my other measurements with our advanced multimeter. Very impressed with them and will be recommending every time as we might buy some more of them to be used usually with our generators but sometimes directly connected to our solar system outputs. The 26,000 joule rating against indirect lightning strikes is the highest we've ever seen for such a unit as well. It's a great first line of defense against dirty power and surges. I do recommend using them with generators because of their generated harmonic distortions are high which could damage your sensitive electronics and even your solar power system if you're using a generator to charge your batteries during inclement weather. Strong buy recommendation on them so far as they've only been tested for 4 hours with our Westinghouse generator with two phases out putted and 242 V and 21 amps thus far under test as they are rated at 30 amps a piece as we use two of them in a split phase configuration to power home office and a duplex.
