This is a perfect, basic, rod and reel. I can use it and feel the quality yet my kids can use it without any problems either. No bird nesting and easy for them to handle!!

Great for all ages
Had a blast with these this summer! These fishing rods were great for my kids and their grandmother to sit on the pier and fish while we were vacationing at the beach. They really enjoyed themselves.

Great poles for kids!
Great fishing poles for kids! I bought a 2 pack for my kids who are six and eight. They've loved using them. Easy to assemble and well made.

We bought this pole for a nine-year-old with saltwater fishing in mind. It replaced a Zebco 33, that underperformed. The rod has a nice sturdy feel to it. It's medium heavy action and the reel is much better than any Zebco I have used in recent years. It has a smooth turn reeling it, and the drag is easy to set. She used the pole this weekend in freshwater. She enjoyed the way it cast, the overall weight of the pole and after fishing four hours wasn't bothered by the weight. At this point I would strongly recommend the combo for the value and the purpose that we're using it for. No, it's not a Shimano or Garcia or even a Penn, but it is a good quality choice for a youth pole, and if it gets dropped in the ocean or stepped on or some otherwise unfortunate accident I won't be so stressed out either..

Horrible shipping
item not in any packaging at all. package attached to all beat up and lots of fishing line hanging out. at least put it in a bag! This is a gift for my son's birthday
