This is NOT the razor-sharp scythe I recall using in my youth, that sliced through brush like lightning- this does indeed cut, but it takes a bit of "hacking" at the brush to get it through. But- for thirteen measly dollars?! How can you beat that?? It's a dream to use, is perfect size for cutting through wads of that miserable Kentucky Bluegrass which is an unkillable weed in Arizona. I also cut through some brush-grass that grew along our back wall, this made it a fun job. I would have preferred the old-fashioned scythe those are super-sharp, but I didn't want to invest that much money at the time.
