[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So cute & light, being used in dorm room. cooks rice very nicely, & being for hotpot (boiling) & steaming
My NHS-06 is great for a bachelor. One-touch operation -- when the rice is ready, it turns off. I put the rice into my dish (vegetables, meat, sauces) and enjoy! And the Zojirushi reputation should mean a long life. GREAT online recipes will help me make more enjoyable dishes. Thanks!
I couldn't be any happier with my lil rice cooker. It's so easy. 1 switch; On Off. I love the fill too marks on the inside of the pot (a little hard to read sometimes. The easiest way is just to fill a glass or something with water and pour to the appropriate line for the amount of water needed. Clean up is a breeze. No scraping, no sticking. I haven't tried whole grain rice yet. The smallest model does not have a warmer.
It's a great little rice cooker. Follow the directions, use the measuring cup provided and let it go, it makes great tasting rice. I made steel cut oatmeal yesterday, it turned out fine but it overflowed a bit. I was not happy about that. It's also very easy to clean. I would recommend it, the size is perfect for 1 or 2 people. I did my research and wasn't sure if a rice cooker would work for me. I've been making rice on the stove for years but I'm glad I bought it. I originally wanted a more expensive one with more bells and whistles but I chose this one to see if I would use it often. So far I used it almost every day!
We're not fancy people-- just needed a rice cooker to cook jasmine rice, and this is the ideal unit. Incredibly smooth cook, consistent after several uses so far (consistency is extremely important for me). Definitely recommend!
a little smaller than the measurements and picture made me think it would be so when meal prepping i usually have to do two batches. however it cooks the rice perfectly and it's easy to clean and store
this rice cooker does exactly as needed/expected. I like that it isn't confusing with too many buttons and options- just an on/off. for a 2 person household its the perfect size
I cook rice often but my needs are very simple and I did not need anything fancy, just reliable. I was familiar with the Zojirushi brand from recipe forums and it was well-liked by ‘serious' rice fans, and I can see why! I only needed the simplest model, but it is perfect for me; it cooks much faster than my old rice cooker and is much easier to clean. I like the Japanese rice cup too as it easily makes a ‘perfect portion' without any fuss. The steaming function also makes great dumplings. Very happy with my choice!
I was given a Zojirushi rice cooker 28 years ago at my wedding shower. I was bummed when it finally crapped out and tried a different brand as a replacement and it was terrible. I found the exact same style of Zojirushi but with a modern facelift and it is perfect. All I need is the little click if that button and I know my rice is going to be perfect. I look forward to another 28+ years with this one. It's a simple, sturdy and reliable design that is so hard to come by in kitchen appliances, and I am glad this type of cooker is still available today. Thanks for not discontinuing.
I purchased this premium brand because I wanted something a bit better than all of the $20 – $30 rice cookers. When I opened the box I was immediately disappointed with the materials and workmanship. The pot and lid are out of round, causing the lid to wobble and not fit securely. Additionally, the upper pot rim edge is quite sharp, probably due to the very thin material that the pot is made from. Again, is Zojirushi not paying attention to quality control, or is this in effort to make a few extra cents? What a shame. Unacceptable for a premium brand charging a premium price.
