Somehow we have the only turtle in the world who is a picky eater. She stopped eating any type of “kibble” once she grew out of the hatchling phase and basically will only eat mealworms, shrimp, and leafy foods. This food is a great value for the money and offers a varied diet which is what I'm going for. She wasn't that into the cranberries which bummed me out but actually did eat the dry food bits once they got a little soggier. If this overly picky and spoiled turtle will eat it, I'd say this is a win—especially for the price and large quantity.
Bought this to give my Eastern Painted Turtle a little variety in his diet. Right off the bat, he seemed to love it. Great variety of pellets and freeze dried shrimp, etc. Looked at the nutritional value on the label and seems to very nutritious. As long as he likes it, I'll keep getting it for him. Also, Walmart's price seemed to be the best out there.
This Zoo Med Gourmet Aquatic Turtle food is formulated to meet the dietary needs of growing turtles. It adds a nice high protein source to their diet in the form of dried shrimp and mealworms. It also includes vitamins and minerals necessary to maintain healthy shells and immune systems. It does not contain any preservatives, colors or flavors. I have been using Zoo Med products to feed and care for our turtles for years. This food is an excellent source of proteins and vitamins necessary for optimum health. All the food in this container floats. The cranberry slices float, the mealworms and dried shrimp float and the pellets float. I only add a small amount at a time, once they have consumed that, they are given their regular food pellets. This is a high protein treat and should be used in addition to their regular diet. The convenience of the ingredients makes it easy to use. It comes in a 12 ounce container and has a long expiration date. I consider it a good value for the price.
I'm shocked at the amount that comes in this container, which is 11 oz. At the recommended 1 tsp serving per feeding, this will take months to finish! We'll rotate it with fresh greens and fish. Our red ear slider/map hybrid absolutely loves it! He went after the cranberries like an absolute champ. He was food averse for most of the past 11 months we've had him (we saved him from a severe neglect situation), so this food is very attractive and aromatic. It has a wonderful and full mix of dehydrated River shrimp, mealworms, cranberries (sliced), and turtle pellets. It's completely mixed throughout, so it's not like the dehydrated proteins are sitting at the top, as is the case with some foods. I do recommend this, one, because it has a good variety in one food, and two, because the various foods encourage interaction with their food, which they need. Our turtle is 5", about 5 years old, and he's in a 48"x24"x24" livestock pond with a 24"x18"x6" planted basking area sitting on top, with a shallow area to one side. He eats in the shallow area away from the pond filter, so the photos might be a bit confusing if you don't know what you're looking at.
Our turtle loves this food. It is convenient to have the shrimp, mealworms, cranberries, and pellets in one. It seems well balanced he gets his meal, fruit, and treat at the same time.

I had actually canceled tgis item before it was shipped so unfortunately I didn't receive it to give it a proper review
My turtle loves this food, it is a real treat for her
My Turtle Loved it. He was going crazy on the varity of food that is mixed into this product.
My red ear slider does not like the food. I gave this item first and always left alot of it. When I would feed him his regular food, he would eat it all! This food left an oily residue behind as well. The price is also higher than in other stores.
