Too small for a 40 gallon tank. Buy more then 1
It's way smaller than I anticipated. So I would order at least 2 or more depending on the size of your tank. Do your research to determine how much you'll need for your tank. I bought on a whim, knowing my hermit crab need it fast. First thing I bought without doing my homework. The eco earth helps keep Moisture in the sand and tank.

Very small order more than one

I have a small rodent cage for my hermit crabs and bought this to pair with sand. The product itself is very small, and even after soaking it in water to expand it took up less room than I assumed it would. However, since I was putting it over the sand I just added more sand and the hermit crabs love it.

Teeny teeny tiny
My fault for not realizing just how TINY this is! It's the size of a hockey puck. Would not purchase again. Pretty much equivalent to throwing a grain of salt in the ocean.

The product is ok but it says a 16 count and shows a box in the picture so I assume I am supposed to get a total of 16 but instead get 1 coil that us 1.59 ounces for over $7. Wheres the rest of my box???
