Great Pan. seasoned it with grapeseed oil in the oven at 450 f. The pan turns a nice even copper brown color. So far has performed well and is non-stick for fried eggs, pancakes, steaks. for anyone having trouble with sticking would recommend getting a nice thin stainless steel flipper to help release your food as well as a wooden spatula for scraping (if required) and cleaning afterwards to preserve the seasoning. The handle is long, but at least the end does not seem to get too hot to hold when searing steak or making a large batch of pancakes. For those of you, wondering if the diamond pattern causes sticking issues so far, have not had any challenges in that area. The only suggested design improvement I would make is more attention to detail in lining up the grid pattern on the pan with the handle, to make the aesthetics look a bit more intentional and well-crafted. I did order a second one as a Father's Day gift and it's had similar aesthetics, but I'm still excited to share this product as a gift.
This pan is ridiculously sexy. Made in Italy (like most of my fave things) and after several seasonings it is slippy letting eggs slide all over it. It's also just gorgeous. Very easy to clean
This pan is beautiful and versatile. I seasoned it with avocado oil and it cooks buttered eggs with ease and without stick. I wash it with hot water and a straw brush. The long handle does not get very hot at medium temperatures on the stove. I much prefer this to my old stainless steel pan, and I like how light it is compared to cast iron.
Great product. Very easy to season and cooks well!
Easy to stove top season. Great for eggs and veggies, non stick if used properly
Amazing pan. Once I had it seasoned, it cooked eggs like a dream. No sticking, no heavy cleanup. Light and worth the purchase.
Great carbon steel pan on a budget. Highly recommend.
Just received mine today. It did so well I went on here to review it. After briefly giving it a little extra seasoning I tested how nonstick it is by frying eggs on it. First with oil and it did great. Second I poured out all the oil and wiped it off so only a thin coat of oil was left. The secomd egg was barely even cooked through yet, but with a few light pokes around the edges it released easily and slid around the pan. This pan is a fantastic, inexpensive and super durable nonstick option. I find no reason to buy those short-lived, fragile, environmentally-unfriendly PFAS/PFOA pans or other gimmicky technology if you have a well‐seasoned and properly-cared for carbon steel pan. (The pan was probably about 250F in the video)
Workmanship is below my expectations but quality is great
Pros: Works and feels like Carbon Steel. Seasons well. Extremely heat resistant. Open fire, hot coal application is unique and won't damage the pan. Cons: 1) It is labeled a Carbon Steel pan. However, the box reads forged iron. Is the pan Carbon Steel, or Cast Iron. There's some debate about this among buyers. Carbon Steel is molecularly iron and carbon. Perhaps it's simply poor advertising. What's most important is that the pan is clearly sold as a Carbon Steel pan. For the packing from the manufacturer to not read “carbon steel” anywhere is odd and unprofessional. The instructions even call the pan “iron”. Zwilling needs to clear up it's advertisement and marketing, and clearly label what this pan is made out of, in both the instruction, the online sales, and the actual packaging of the product. 2) The handle is uncomfortable. Worse than most. I try not to complain about this. I love the length as it helps when using it on a grill on coals. 3) THE CHEMICALS!!! Why on earth is Zwilling using chemicals when making forged iron or carbon steel pans? There are countless other companies who make chemical free carbon steel pans. So many companies are going “clean kitchen”, I am very unhappy that these included chemicals were not listed in the marketing. I'm hesitant to use the pan now, and I love the design, overall construction, and feedback from peers. I can't stand the chemicals. C'mon Zwilling…there are subpar companies putting out chemical free non-stick, and you guys can't keep chemicals out of your Carbon Steel? Overall poor marketing, with potentially misleading information, while excluding vital information regarding chemicals in the product. If the construction wasn't great, I would give a worse rating.
