Fantastic knife... its quite light weight and so fun to use! The other night I used it to cut corn kernels off of a half dozen cobs and it is so sharp and has a thinner blade than most knives this size. It made the job the easiest than ever. I hope I can maintain the amazing edge this knife has now.
great balanced handle, beatiful blade look and shape, great sharp edge , ans a pleasure to chop with !
A very sharp knife that has a nice feel and is very easy to use. I can't speak on how long the sharpness will last before it needs to be honed.
I bought this knife because I had owned a Zwilling Santuku knife for 20 years and felt it was time to replace it. It is my favorite most used knife in my collection. This replacement seems to be equal in quality other than being much lighter than my original. Only time will tell if this is an issue.
This is an excellent addition to the set of Four Star knives my wife and I got as a wedding gift over 30 years ago. It's got a great handle and is very well-balanced. Like our other Four Stars, it cuts beautifully with minimal sharpening, and holds an edge for a long time.
I'm not chef, I just cook stuff at home. I'm coming from the Babish clef knife, which served its purpose, but I was ready for an upgrade. I landed on this when I saw the deal on it. This knife is a perfect blade for me. It just feels good in the hand and cuts like a dream.
The knife seems to cut fine; a sharp knife is a sharp knife. It does feel kind of flimsy in my hand as it is very light and the blade very thin. I suspect time will tell, so if it holds its edge better than most I'll consider it a more wise purchase. I bought two, one for me and one for my adult daughter and I look forward to getting her thoughts once she receives hers. ;-)
Perfect length and very sharp out of the box. My downside is the blade feels very lightweight and “cheaper” than my older knives of the same brand/line. I would have liked a little more weight in the blade for better balance.
It's sharp, light, easy to grip. I also acquired the 7-inch Henckels Classic Santoku knife at the same time. For my use, I prefer the weight (heavier) and the feel of the Henckels more (I'd give it 5-stars). Still staying with the family and love both knives!
I have the same knife that I purchased 20 years ago and loved it however after years of use and having it professionally sharpened, I decided to get a new one because there was a good deal. The new knife is lighter and weight and the stainless steel is much thinner than the old knife. It still has the same great handle however, the knife is much lighter. I don't know how good it's gonna hold up. I happy I got it on sale because it definitely is not worth paying the full price for this version of the 7” santoku knife!
