I love everything about this knife. I have a wooden knife block with a complete set of beautiful knives from Zwilling. I picked out and bought each individual knife that I wanted in my wooden block, and I love them all. My two favorite workhorse knives are the 8" chef's knife and the 7" santoku. I love using my chef's knife but really like the size of the 7" santoku. So, decided to shop around and found this gem a 7" chef's knife. I love it. It is absolutely the perfect size and has perfect balance and a wonderful weight. The rocking motion is amazing. It is extremely comfortable to hold and I think they call that the pinch grip which is perfect. This 7" chef's knife has replaced my 7" santoku, so passing on the santoku to my son. I can't say enough about this 7" chef's knife. And you cannot find it at this price anywhere else. Zwilling is the only knives I will own. They really are the best of the best when it comes to knives. I'm a very happy cook.
I bought this as a replacement to my French style chef knife. I VASTLY prefer it, and it has a sizable curve for rocking while cutting. It's heavier as well, but feels great in the hand. I also like the broad blade for its length.
Exceptional products and very attentive and thoughtful company!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Now that I am starting to pick up cooking during the quarantine, I bought this for the purpose of cutting meat and vegetables. Tonight I decided to try out this knife on cubing sweet potatoes - with my regular knives that I have at home, my fingers/hands would get fatigued and a little achy after cutting - however, this Zwilling 7” chefs knife cut through the sweet potato like butter! I am in love with this knife. It makes the job so much easier. I am petite and have small hands, at first I thought this knife would be way too big for me. However, the weight of the knife definitely feels good in my hands and helps with cutting. Thanks Zwilling for this great product!
Love having a seven inch Chef's knife, not many out there but perfect for my small sized hands. Love the curved bolster which makes it really comfortable to hold, and allows me to sharpen the entire blade. The special formula steel that they use holds an incredible edge, and sharpens easily. Love that there is a lifetime warranty, which to me screams great quality. The curved blade really makes the rocking motion much easier to achieve than the traditional straight blade. I truly look forward to working in the kitchen now thanks to this great line of knives.
It's heavy, sharp, feels solid... Which is exactly what I needed. I have several thin good sharp Japanese steel knives that do their job, but I was missing a solid strong knife for thicker items like pumpkin, watermelon rind, potatoes, etc... This knife is my go to for those things items but is still razor sharp for tomatoes and peppers!
This sous chef knife blows away the Henckels santoku that I've had for a few years.
Another fabulous, quality product from this outstanding company!!
blade is not straight but it is manageable. I have seen this consistently from this Zwilling line of products. I like the blade shape a lot. Good balance. Holds the edge reasonably well. I find it comfortable.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this knife as a Christmas gift. I just used it for the first time yesterday and it felt noticeably 'off'. After a closer inspection, the blade is slightly curved to the left. It is hard to see with the eye but very noticeable while cutting. Other than that, I like the weight and feel of the knife, it arrived perfectly sharp, and other than the blade, it seems like it would be a good knife.
