received this item from the Walmart Spark Review Program for no compensation - just an honest and unbiased review. Thank you! The Hyper Tough cutting tool and18mm snap-off blades from ALLWAY TOOLS, INC. are a handy cutting tool that will enable you to always have a sharp blade at hand. The Hyper Tough cutting tool is very ergonomic in the hand, sporting yellow and black highlights. With a simple click – the blade extrudes from a metal sheath giving you a sharp blade cutting surface. Once this is worn – simply break off the tip at the scored section with a pair of pliers – click out the blade to produce a new section – and you have another sharp blade. You get 8 blade sections total in each piece for extended use. Bonus feature of the cutting tool is that the back end of the tool holds another replacement blade – with another 8 blade section. Blades last a long time too as the high carbon steel doesn't dull easily. No sharpening is ever required and it all takes up very little room. The cutting tool even has a convenient belt or pocket clip to keep in in a handy location on you, or a spot to attach a cord or lanyard for hanging. Replacement blade pack comes with another 5 blade sets – totaling 40 more sharp blade tips!! Great for cutting boxes open, cutting through cardboard, laminate, light electrical wiring, rope, or just about any other cutting material. These blades are surgically sharp – so be careful – even in your disposal of the broken used blade tips that you discard!
I recently bought a utility knife, used it twice, the blades broke three times during actual use (thank you, eye protection goggles), and on the third time I went to use it, well, I couldn't, because it had fractured into six different pieces inside my tool bag, scattering sharp razor blades everywhere. Now, that's not exactly what I would call safety-first. So this time, I got this "hyper tough" utility knife. It's as solid as any tool can be. It's rock solid. There's nothing flaky, shaky, or flimsy about it. The casing is solid cast with super tough plastic, and bright yellow, so I can find it buried in my tool bag, easily. The also-hyper-tough blades don't snap during use, yet each section can be broken off (with pliers) when a fresh/super sharp edge is needed, anytime. Plus, it stores two high-quality blades inside the handle via a slide-out drawer, so if I'm up on the roof, cutting tiles, and need a new blade, I'm good to go in seconds. No time wasted sharpening blades. I also really like that the handle is thicker than most, giving me something I can grip firmly, even while cutting something thick and resistant. Highly recommended.
This cutter is really nice and it came with extra blades and a blade holder. The quality is tough as the title says and I would say it's equal quality to many of it's competitors at higher prices. I really like the snap off blades when it gets dull, you snap it off and have a brand new one to keep on working. The blades are sharp and last for awhile.
I use these everyday and they work great! I don't notice any difference between these and higher priced blades?
Every so often you need a good knife, right? Especially if you work in the box business, shipping , or simply just around the house. There is always a box that needs to be opened, or a string or rope that needs to be cut, or a piece of paper that needs to be trimmed. That's where the "Hyper Tough 18MM Snap Off Blades" come in. I had a chance to review these through the Walmart Sparks Program and the first thing that surprised me were their strength. They are made of high carbon steel...some of the toughest material out there. These blades are also very compact and convenient. They are made to "snap-off" after they become dull or are broken. Now, these blades should be used only for cutting and not for prying lids open or something like that for safety purposes. My blades came with a blade holder so I could actually use the product. The blades were easy to insert in the holder and very easy to replace. They are called "hyper tough" for a reason. The blade thickness is 0.02-in/0.51 mm. for those who need to know. A great blade.
