I can't believe this extremely useful tool costs a little over $2. I seem to use it every other day, and it's so inexpensive, I can keep multiples around the house and garage. Plus, it comes with extra blades.

Great utility knife! Low cost, high quality! What else could you ask for? Tool is solid, grip feels great. Blades that come with it are sharp as you would expect. For $2.12 each, these are far more impressive than high end DeWalt, Milwaukee etc. knives. One drawback: this knife has the old timey way of changing blades, you have unscrew the screw holding the two halves together, fit in the new blade so that it slides seamlessly back and forth and then screw the whole thing back together and hope you did not misalign something. The high end knives have a SLIGHTLY easier way to change the blades by pushing a button, releasing the blade and then you slide the new blade in. Not foolproof! Great buy!

This Hyper Tough utility knife is a replacement for another brand that performed poorly. This utility knife is so very strong, sturdy during use and as it is so named: Hyper Tough. There is no rattling and is easy to use. To me. Because of its sturdy construction, I am cognizant and focused so not make mistakes. Using the blade in away and downward strokes.

I needed to replace some old utility knives whose blades were proprietary and they had dulled. I went for this product and have been quite satisfied. I love the different blade settings, which my old knife did not have. It's really great to just make a shallow cut without having to worry about accidentally making it too deep. Comes with backup blades as well, which is nice. Will probably pick up a few more of these to have them around.

I've tried out at least three different utility knives from Walmart and two more from another home improvement store. But, hands down, this one is my favorite and the one I use most often! I use it for everything from cutting wires, opening packages, breaking down boxes for recycling, and more. The knife is super visible, easy to hold, and has a retractable blade that's easy to replace when it gets dull. Overall, it's a great deal because it also comes with extra replacement blades. I'd recommend the red one (which I own two of) over the black and silver ones (which I own one of each) made by the same company. The reason to get this one is that this model is made of metal, is super visible, has an anti-slip rubber grip, and comes with replacement blades.

Today, my opinion is the same as it was initially, when first I examined the knife, “This is a high quality, well designed tool, offered at an astounding price of less than two dollars”. The tool is comfortable to hold and direct, irrespective of whether one is holding it deftly to cut irregular patters in sheets of paper, cardboard or polyester; or if it is being held firmly to cut drywall or asphalt roofing. The most outstanding performance feature is the ease at which the blade can be extended or retracted, and latched securely into position, with the thumb, all without moving the hand out of its normal position. The tool's mechanical fit tolerances are also well controlled: the cast-metal housing halves fit snugly but the blade still moves effortlessly in or out, but not latterly, as in side-to-side. The product's appearance compliments its performance with a dark tomato-red body contrasted with black rubber side panels. It is easier to change blades with the knife resting on a horizontal surface, rather than when holding it by hand. This tool should perform long and well for the DIY enthusiast, but does not have the ergonomic properties that a professional drywall contractor or carpet installer might need. I received this utility knife and it works like it is suppose to! It is easy to expose and retract the blade. It has a good grip. Reason I gave it 4 stars is that it did not come in a package and looked like it was used due to something on the blade.
