I got this tobuse to clean the boots I bought for the rare snow days we have in southern texas where we live. It was exactly what I was looking for, and I am very happy with this shoe brush. The bristles are firm not too soft, and it does the job perfectly, which is it cleans off all of the dirt and grit and whatever else gets on the faux leather exterior of their snow-boots. The wooden handle is wide, smooth wood and fits nicely in my hand. I expect it to last for several years, as I only use it in the two weeks we have winter here, but I am very happy to have it it is very conveient tool for the job compared to a tiny toothbrush!! XD
