Great Chili—Even Better with This Tip

Tonya April 8, 2026

This is one of my go-to chili options. Good flavor, hearty, and not overly greasy, which is something I really look for in canned chili. It's solid on its own and works well for quick meals. I also like to take it up a notch, add a can of Rotel to about three cans of this, and it really boosts the flavor. Just adjust the amount if you don't want too much heat. I usually stock up when it's on sale because it's reliable, filling, and easy to work with.

Easy delicious chili dogs

Gigi April 9, 2026

It is absolutely fantastic if you want to do chili dogs and you're in a pinch and don't feel like making home made chili for them. It has a great flavor. Great texture great consistency. Add a little cheese and onions easy Peezy. I highly recommend it.

Yummy chili

Anonymous April 22, 2026

This is very good tasting chili. I add some things to 2 cans of this. Is lower cost to let this be the base of a chili, instead of cooking for 5 hours to get a chili to this point. Just add in some personal touches, cooked some ground beef add to it, and add some canned beans I like, diced onions, some cut tomatoes pieces, some cut up bell pepper pieces, add some chili spice, splash of water since going to cook things for half an hour, and the chili will be ready : ) Have cooked pasta of some sort into a bowl. (extra Large macrooni or spaghetti noodles into your bowl, and pour over pasta a good helping of your freshly finished chili sauce : )

Mix it up or eat as is.

elizabeth May 27, 2026

I mix this with black beans or Southern medley (beans) chopped cilantro %26 anything that pops into my head. Serve it with rice or mashed potatoes. My two grandsons that live with me, growing teenagers really like it %26 it's a quick meal without spending a lot of time in the kitchen.

The chili was delicious. The can, however, was ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE to open for some reason. I tried two different openers that I know work correctly. I finally was able to get it open enough to get some out, but ended up having to pry part of the lid up w/a knife %26 pliers!! Something must not have been made properly on the top of the can.

Nutritional label online is very, very off.

anonymous March 9, 2025

There are actually 510 calories in a can instead of 660–yay for this! There are actually 35 carbs with 4 being fiber, netting me 31 total carbs while the online image says 30 with 8 being fiber. That nets 22. I count carbs, so this is a huge negative for me. Otherwise, this is my favorite chili.

Piece of plastic found in chili

April October 26, 2025

The reason my rating is so low is because my husband found a piece of plastic in his chili when he was almost done eating it. This was in our most recent purchase of this item. My husband and I are both immunocompromised and my husband ends up in the hospital with infections a lot. I can't imagine if he had eaten this what it could have done to his intestinal tract. The plastic was pretty sharp and could've punctured something on the was down. I'm hoping this was an isolated incident but I figured this needed some attention out of concern for other consumers.

Spicy tomato goop

TechToyGeek November 14, 2025

I was looking for a quick chili dog solution. More specifically, I was hoping for more of a meat sauce perfect for hot dogs, with that sort of finely ground beef texture. For me, this was a loser. It's missing the fine ground beef texture, and even though there are no beans in it, the texture is more like whipped beans with tomato sauce and excess spice. Very unappealing on the dogs, both visually and taste-wise. The meat that there is in it, about a quarter of the can if that, doesn't have any flavor or texture of its own. After noticing this, I read the label closer and that kind of explains a lot. In any case, the super-high fat processed pork and beef combo in mostly spiced goop just doesn't work well for us, whether on a hot dog or on its own. The search continues...

Thick goo

Ronald May 28, 2026

This stuff is like flavored thick goo with little bits of ground beef. At least I assume it's beef. The light brown color is as strange looking as is the texture being weird. The flavor isn't bad if you can stand looking at it. Originally purchased to try it out. I won't purchase again. Nasty.
