Being from Texas, I have known of this chili for quite a while. It is among the very best brands as far as taste and quality. It is a standard for most chili users. I like chili with and without beans and this chili fits the bill, even for a Texas boy.
I like the taste better than any other brand that I have tried. It taste good on Chili Dogs, Tacos, and just eating it from a bowl. You can fancy it up, by adding onions, peppers, cheese, or hot sauce, but I consider that unnecessary. I like it right out of the can. It taste good.
For canned chili this is pretty good; has good flavor (not salty); has just enough liquid to drown a cracker, but, can't say it's easy enough to open, while on your way to work, say. But seriously, when you have a bowl of chili sitting in front of you, now, ready to go, after a sleeve of crackers is added, along with an 8 oz bag of sharp cheddar, a (mild please) jalapeno, and a well portioned dollop, along with whatever else you put in there, can your concoction still be called a 'bowl' of chili? Something to give thought to. Be safe.
I fell in love with Wolf Brand chili when I lived in Texas years ago. It's the only canned chili I'll buy - mostly. I'm not saying other brands are bad, just that I prefer Wolf Brand... even though it costs more. (Hormel is my 2nd choice) I use the 'no bean' version to use as a topping for burgers, hot dogs, base for a chip dip... well, just experiment a little and see how you like it.
The BEST canned chili. It's great heated up and enjoyed as a dish of chili or right out of the can as a dip with tortilla chips (can add shreaded cheese too.) This is a winter time treat! It has the right amount of spice so that it's not bland but also not too hot. Good balance.
I'll admit I'm not a fan of canned chili for the most part. However, this one isn't bad at all. Of course being in a can it's easy to heat up %26 serve. My daughter thinks it tastes like Wendy's chili. For a fast %26 easy meal, grab you some crackers and enjoy.
I reviewed another brand of canned chili and what I said there I can repeat here. Buying chili in a restaurant has become pretty expensive, like everything else. So being able to buy chili in a can and just having to heat and serve it is pretty good. I wanted to try this brand because it has high ratings. I was a little disappointed with it because it has what I would call a “heavy” taste to it. It's definitely not horrible but I have had canned chili that doesn't have that taste. It's also a little bit bland for my taste but I know some people don't like any spice at all. It's not the worst I've tasted but it's not the best either. Still, I'm recommending it.
I received this brand of Chili with beans as a substitution for what I normally purchase. I was far from impressed and would be hard pressed to recommend this product to others unless they're on a very restricted budget and need that additional $1 savings per can.
Horrible. Quality went way down they're pinching Pennys apparently. There's basically no meat and hardly any beans at all. Literally just liquidy slop. It's spicier than I remember it being. Awful. Not like it used to be just a few years ago. Won't be buying again
i actually love and prefer this brand of chili. the reason for the 1 star is because i had to throw a can away. waste of money. this can had such a huge dent in it. it should not have been given to anybody, at all. other than that, everything's great!
