This particular model is nice because it allows a little taller child to use it. The weight capacity is also higher. My little guy (7yrs) likes to skid when he stops (foot off the "gas" pedal) and this does a great job. He rides it on the side walks, grass, and driveway. He can easily take his little sister, or his little buddy with him. Has been a lot of fun.
Our 4yo loves it and it's roomy enough for him to ride with his friend. Good power, traction and rides well all over our yard - mostly flat, some sandy areas and some grass. Manages small curbs and a steeper driveway fine. The 2-speed options plus reverse are great, but the boys legs seem directly over the shifter. The turning radius is pretty big, so not for tight maneuvering - def better for open areas. The front bumper was missing from the unopened box (?) but we had it within a few days from a local service center and he could use it without the bumper. Assembly was about 30 mins. Overall he loves it and it was literally half the price of our old JD Gator ride-on. ** FYI- Take the battery out ahead of time (18 hours for 1st time charge!) That's a long time to wait when you're 4 and wanting to try your amazing new toy!
Wasn't hard to put together probley took about 20-30 mins and had two of them. Kids got to use it once so far till another snow fall came but it's nice have different speeds make sure you read instructions on how to make it go faster if kids have drove a power wheel before cause it's just a screw you got to take out but was an awesome price I'm sure the kids will have a blast with it. And it's the first power wheel we got that has a metal frame so hopefully holds up nice.
My teenage sons went into this while my three old drive them around and it drove at full speed. Drives good in grass could be better but it works fine. Drives great my son loves it. Battery life is good. I got two so my son was never without one charge one while he was driving one made my life so much easier. . When it stops it stops lol could my son is just three and 39 inches long and just reaches the pedals so I got a few more years with This I hope . My older so. Sat in there with him and the speed level never dropped . Awesome!!
This was a gift for my 4 year old son. He was thrilled and drives it every chance he gets. His feet reach the pedals, but there is definitely some room to grow. My 7 year old also fits and loves driving it too. Kids line up at the park to take a turn. It does well on pavement and grass and moves briskly at the top speed. We've only had it about 2 weeks, but so far it has exceeded our expectations.
Great purchase. This is my grandsons 2nd one. It was cheaper to buy a new one than to ship his older one. Glad they still make them. He finds it halariouse to run it into stuff but the darn thing keeps going. He now has one in Arizona and one In Washington St. to crash around!!
Toy arrived on time and it needed assembly which was straight forward. All parts were present. Charged the battery for 24 hrs which was recommended. Grandson and his brother/sister liked it. They have another similar one, (purple/pink for a girl.). These toys seem to be very durable and well designed.
Once the tears, cursing, and sweat from putting it together was finished, it ran really good. We ran it on grass, and the battery lasted longer than I expected it to. My kids like it alot, they are 5 and almost 3. I wish the younger one would stop using it to run everyone over, but that isn't the products fault. All in all, it was a good buy.
Purchased this for my son for his 5th birthday. So far after the first day, no complaints. Construction seems solid and it is working great on our yard. Goes up hills, over rocky areas, and roots with no problem. I remember my power wheels when I was a kid (the 90's) would get stuck easily. Not this one! As stated, he has only been using it for about a day, hopefully it will survive the test of time.
Did not open the box for several months as it was a Christmas present and since we live in Michigan couldn't be used for several months. Opened it to find one of the plastic pieces was cracked. It was not that significant and did not effect operation so we decided to ignore it. My daughter used it five times before the shifter broke. Unit began to only go in forward, no reverse. Took it apart and cleaned everything. Now it sometimes will go in reverse other times will not do either. So after five uses it's become pretty much useless.
