I bought this battery operated string trimmer due to having a recent shoulder surgery. I knew I would have to struggle with starting my gasoline powered string trimmer due to my physical limitations. This ego trimmer has not disappointed me and it works as described
This is my first battery trimmer and I am enjoying it so far. It is lightweight enough for a female, low maintenance, easy to use and maneuverable. It is built to last and has a sleek design. It is powerful. The battery life is very good. I have not run out of power while trimming, yet.
I bought my ego trimmer last week and was really impressed when I used it for the first time. It ran smoothly and cut very efficiently trimming the borders of my landscaping. It seemed lighter than I expected given the battery is much larger than my old cordless trimmer. I have used the ego lawnmower for 7 years and have been equally pleased with the trimmer.
Hello Folks. I have not yet used the new trimmer as I've power raked, seeded and top-soiled the lawn. I will follow-up once I'm acquainted with the tool. For starters, I bought your unit because I want to be "quieter" doing yard work and I do not use power tools outdoors on Sundays. That was common courtesy in the neighbourhood back when I was a kid. I have a fairly new Shindaiwa, great machine, but happier changing over for peace of mind. Cheers for now, Tom Clarke
Went looking for a better string trimmer at the Millbank Hardware's Manufacturer demo and sale event. Friends had recommended Ego brand. Bought the combo trimmer and blower set. Very impressed so far. Trimmer is a huge upgrade, and discovering more uses for the blower than I had thought of.
I bought the trimmer just over a week ago. So easy to use. It's got very good power and definitely long enough trimming time on the battery. Wish it had some attachment or ring for a shoulder harness. It's a good size machine and I get tired holding it up. I will devise a harness attachment myself.
I purchased this a few weeks ago. Great tool and trims well. The String Feed sometimes does not let the string come out and I have to remove the head to untangle it and re load it back in. This is the original string from the factory and perhaps might be older and creased so I will reserve judgment until I try a new Ego String.
Very strong and will not back down from any challenge! I am very impressed with my first battery powered lawn care purchase in my 45 years on this earth. The only flaw is the included battery. It is great for small yards. If you intend on tackling fence rows or ditch banks I would recommend purchasing the 5.0 ah battery also.
It took a while to get it adjusted properly and learn how to control it. The instructions do not provide any help in learning how to use it. But figured it out with some practice and experimentation. I mostly use it as an edger and there is no guide or device to hold it on the ground, so one must pay close attention to the angle and depth. I probably would have been better off with the edging tool, but I now have it down pretty well.
Bought less than a year ago and the head stopped feeding string. Checked for a solution online and in official forums and found that it is an extremely common occurrence. I contacted support and was told the unit was still under warranty but the feeder is not covered. After a garage full of Ego equipment (that I rave about and convinced neighbors to purchase) I cannot believe I was unable to get a replacement. I've used the trimmer a total of six times.
