Well, I'm that type that smashes fingers and ends up knowing something is wrong but figures going to the Doctor is probably not going to change the treatment. I have needed these a couple times in the not too distant past. Due to my specific type of work, I needed to eliminate the muscle memory of my pointer finger from entering certain work applications. During the cleaner work, I just slid the longer one over my finger and was able to do what was needed. In my normally dusty, dirty work, I taped the smaller one over the joint that got violently slammed and consequentially stuck in the door jamb to prevent bending it. I'd call it a success as my brain chose to distribute working power differently with it immobilized and my finger is as straight as it was before the injury. I also used the smaller one for an injury sustained to my pinky- it remains relatively straight and was extremely helpful in eliminating movement that was painful for 6 weeks or so. The pointer finger was probably not broken but the pinky probably was. Either way, both have healed and these washed up after sweaty days and kept me from unneeded pain along the healing process.
This is a good item to keep in your first aid kit. It's handy to use any time your finger get injured. We use it after a cut, or for basketball injury. It isn't really for knee injury or back pain. We aren't sure what impact it has on for muscles. We know it protects the finger from getting bumped . It is also a good reminder to keep your finger dry. It's easy to adjust to fit. Bonus- there are two in the package for the price that one would cost at a lot of stores. Walmart has good prices.
This works great for trigger finger that just started in my ring finger. It only bothers me after sleeping all night with my finger bent, so using the splint at night prevents it from getting painfully stuck by morning.
Arthritis has caused 2 fingers to close at knuckles. Looks like my fingers have been cut of at knuckles. Trying splints hopefully will fuse bones back together
This product is excellent! They are a one size fits all. I have fairly meaty fingers and I was able to easily bend them out to accommodate the width of my finger. Very comfortable and secure. I will definitely hang onto them after this injury heals.
(I never give 5⭐️reviews.) These finger splints are comfortable and adjustable. The velcro strap is a nice touch so you don't have to search for vet wrap to hold them in place. They are reusable. I've washed mine with mild dish soap, and the foam padding %26 velcro strap cleaned up %26 dried nicely. I recommend these for everybody's first aid kit, because you just never know. Fingers break %26 dislocate surprisingly easily. These are a great splint until you can reach medical help. They are pretty easy to apply %26 tighten the strap by yourself, but if you have another person close by, an extra set of hands always comes in, well, "handy". ;-)
if you need heavy protection would be great. I have a trigger finger so I will be using medical tape again.
It keeps slipping off my thumb no matter how tight I try to make it. I had to cut an ace bandage to wrap around my thumb to keep it in place.
I ordered this and there is only one splint in the box. There are supposed to be two.
I placed a Walmart pickup. Went to pick up my order during a snow storm which was about 20 mins out the way because I really needed this item I didn't think to look at it before I left the store I get home to see I was given a used splint! Things that have been used shouldn't be put back onto shelves! %26 yall should be looking at items thoroughly!! - ps I needed the bigger splint the smaller only fit my finger tip.
