So far, none of them have been defective. And I use these to store fruits in the freezer for fresh produce for smoothies. I will try to use one several times before I replace it and it's working out very well. Cheaper than food containers and gives me more room in the freezer.
We have used the more expensive bags, but then we tried the Great Value Freezer bags, and have never went back to other brands. We always buy meats in bulk, and have even used a vacuum sealer, but we've had better luck just using the GV freezer bags. Our foods stay good, without freezer burn, for a much longer time. I appreciate the fact that they also have the label area to write on, so we know what we're freezing, and when. Why spend more money on higher-priced brands, when you get better quality and results from Great Value? Give them a try. You won't be disappointed.
These freezer bags are just as durable as the leading name-brand bags but cost a fraction of the price. The double zipper seals securely, and I use them to freeze meats, leftovers, fruits, and vegetables. I also appreciate the large quantity because the box lasts a long time. My family and I have found many uses for these bags beyond food storage. On hot days, we fill them with ice, add a wet washcloth or small towel, and seal the bag. As the ice melts, the towel stays nice and cold, making it perfect for a refreshing wipe to cool off. These bags are durable, versatile, and an excellent value for the price. I would definitely purchase them again.
Well I'll be hornswoggled... these freezer bags hold on tighter than Grandma to her secret pie recipe. They seal up great, don't leak, and keep my meal prep happier than a cowboy on payday. Name brand? Shoot, these work just fine and leave a few extra dollars jinglin' in my pocket. I'd buy 'em again faster than a jackrabbit on a hot road.
I've been buying mainly Great Value for all my sizes of zipper bags, and they perform just fine: easy to close, no leaks, suitable for marking with permanent marker. The 120 count gallon-size is strangely not just unit-cost cheaper, but also total cost cheaper than the next smaller size. Keep in mind that the 120-count is a big box, so here it is for scale with other boxes.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ These Great Value Fresh Seal Double Zipper Gallon Freezer Bags are an excellent value! The double zipper creates a tight seal that keeps food fresh and helps prevent freezer burn. The bags are thick, durable, and don't tear easily, even when storing heavier items like meat or frozen vegetables. I also like that they're easy to open and reseal, making meal prep and leftover storage simple. They perform just as well as more expensive name-brand bags at a much better price. I'll definitely keep buying these!
I changed over due to higher price on better brand. I'll go back to them for gallon freezer bags. LEAKS!!! I buy in bulk for meat and after bagging chicken and pork, put in refrigerator to use a day later on grill. Well I had chicken %26 pork juices all over 2 shelves. Unacceptable product!!
There seems to always be holes in these. All my pre marinated meats get water logged when I defrost the bag in water. I literally have to pull the meats out 2 days to defrost in the fridge and I still have to put it in a bowl so it won't leak into my shelves.
I've happily used these bags for years. This most recent batch, however, is DEFECTIVE! The seal joining the top bit with the zipper to the bag wasn't properly heat sealed. When any pressure is put on the bag it comes apart at the seal. I filled a bag with chicken pieces, added spices and buttermilk, and when I tried to seal the bag it came apart and everything spilled out onto the counter. Gigantic mess and expensive buttermilk lost. I tried the next 10 bags in the box and EVERY.SINGLE.ONE.OF.THEM, came apart at the heat seal. DO NOT BUY this brand for a few months until they get their act together.
These are by far the worst freezer bags I have ever bought I will never ever buy the double zipped freezer bags ever again. Can you take this it is a struggle to get the bags to zip shut and some I give up on and just roll up and stick in the freezer
