(2 pack) Pik-Nik Original Shoestring Potatoes, 4 oz

I was in the mood for something salty and crunchy—the kind of snack that doesn't mess around. I remembered having these as a kid at a family friend's house and the image of the tall can popped into my head, so I grabbed a couple from Walmart.com. Right out of the gate, the texture is the main event here. These are not your standard thick-cut potato sticks you find in a generic can. They are genuinely shoestring-thin, almost like crispy little potato needles. You get this very delicate, satisfying shatter when you bite into them. The flavor is straightforward and salty, which is exactly what I wanted, but it does lean a little heavy on the salt if you eat too many in one sitting (which is very easy to do). The 4 oz can is the perfect size for a desk drawer or a lunchbox. It's tall and skinny, so it doesn't take up much pantry space, but don't let the size fool you—that can is packed tight. My only minor complaint is that because the strands are so thin, you do end up with a fair amount of broken pieces at the bottom of the can. It's not a dealbreaker, but you're eating the last few bites with a spoon or just tilting your head back. I mostly use them as a topping for casseroles or to add crunch to tuna salad, but I've definitely caught myself just eating them by the handful while watching TV. They have a nice, clean potato taste without any greasy aftertaste. I really hope these hold up and stay crispy over time, because they fill a specific snack niche that thicker sticks just can't.

A sudden memory of my father snacking on these made me rush out to get some when I found out they were still making them. So happy to find them and they are so good~!~ Addictive? Well .. maybe. (smile)

these are very nostalgic for me. my mom ate these all the time when we were kids and now I buy them to put on top of my salads. I also like them for road trips when you want potato chips but you don't want to deal with an open bag.

I'm 73 years old and I've been eating them since I was a teenager I love both the country and not real greasy tasty love them!

Pik-Nik.has always been a favorite of mine for snacks. Not high on sodium which is importsnt to me. Love the taste!

Given my lifelong obsession with potato sticks, I was tickled to find a brand I had never heard of, let alone tried. But these Pik Niks missed the mark for me. The crunch was great and they were not too salty. But I found them bland, and the potato taste was overpowered by the oiliness. Disappointed. For now, my go to is still Utz.

It goes great and sandwiches as a snack anytime around you can never go wrong with these little chips enjoy

I can remember my mother buying these when I was younger.. They still have a real good flavor,, just don't remember the can being this small..

This is not really bad, it just needs more salt!!That's the only reason I can't recommend it %26 probably will not buy again. However, if you don't care about the lack of saltiness, then by all means give it a try!

They tasted like starch. No salt at all, I wondered if they were make out of potatoes. I gave them to the birds.
