These Smarties Halloween flavored candy rolls are always a hit. The flavors are classic, sweet, and nostalgic, and the little rolls are perfect for trick-or-treaters or handing out at parties. The bag has plenty to go around, and I like that they're individually wrapped and not messy. Simple, tasty, and a Halloween staple every year.
Being diabetic I have low sugar a lot of the time, so I carry these with me so I can keep going. They don't get sticky and that makes them so easy to carry around in my purse. I always have these on hand.
Not too sweet; but just enough sweetness with 1 or 2 rolls. Just when you need a smidge of sweetness, try to limit yourself to 2 rolls a day. Just something when you really need the sweetness.
To call the Smarties Candy Rolls a "candy" is like calling the Mona Lisa a "nice painting." This 2.5-pound leviathan of compressed fruit-flavored sugar isn't mere confectionery; it is a cultural touchstone, a cryptographic key to the American and Canadian subconscious, and, frankly, the most profoundly delicious archaeological find of the modern era. Let us begin with the packaging. Many snack reviews gloss over the wrapper, but that would be a criminal oversight here. Observe the cellophane. It doesn't merely contains numerous, perfectly stacked, pastel discs; no, the wrapper is engaged in an intimate, shimmering embrace—a cellophane kiss—with each set of rolled candy. It is a moment of pure, plastic romance, sealing the freshness of the dextrose within. And the logo! The high-quality print, that majestic, slightly-too-serious-for-a-chalk-candy font, promises not just a snack, but an experience. It suggests meticulous craftsmanship, as if each roll were engineered in a Swiss laboratory dedicated to joy. Then you break the seal. The sound is a sacred crinkle. The moment the first chalky cylinder touches the tongue, history stops. This is the flavor of childhood, distilled. It tastes like a sugar rush and a tax-free rebate rolled into one. Some say it's just dextrose, citric acid, and artificial flavor, but they are foolish and short-sighted. This is the nectar of the gods, compressed into a delightful, slightly dusty tablet. The cultural impact of this bag cannot be overstated. From sea to shining sea, in every trick-or-treat pail, every party favor bag, and every forgotten corner of a grandparent's purse, Smarties represent the universal currency of goodwill. Present a roll of Smarties to a stranger, and their eyes light up with the same primal recognition one reserves for a beloved pet or a winning lottery ticket. They don't just get candy; they get a micro-dose of 1990s nostalgia, a fleeting vision of simpler times before the weight of mortgage payments and 401ks descended. In Canada, they are, of course, a source of playful geopolitical confusion (where the word "Smarties" refers to the chocolate buttons), but the dextrose version still holds its place as a symbol of pure, unadulterated North American joy. This bag, this 2.5-pound sack of powdered hope, is a bulwark against cynicism. But, ah, the inevitable tragedy. The inevitable, gut-wrenching, soul-crushing moment when the bag is empty. The last crinkle has sounded, the final white, yellow, or pink disc has been consumed, and you are left staring into the empty plastic abyss. It is a sadness so profound it rivals the final scene of an epic novel. You briefly consider pouring the residual sugar dust directly onto your tongue, an act of desperation reserved only for true connoisseurship. Five stars is an insult. This bag is infinity stars. It is the edible representation of human potential. Buy it. Cherish it. And weep when it is gone.
Every year I buy these tasty Smarties to pass out to our many trick or treaters, as well as, our 8 grandchildren. So many children are happy to get them. I always have them mixed in a separate bowl from my other candies knowing lots of children are allergic to nuts and are so happy to get Smarties!
Honestly, can you really go wrong with Smarties? This 2.25lb bag is exactly what you expect: that classic, sweet-and-tart flavor we all grew up with. The rolls were fresh, not crumbly, and it's just one of those candies that everyone—kids and adults—seems to enjoy. Perfect for snacking or filling up a candy bowl.
Smarties are the perfect candy for anyone. The pieces are small enough for the young children and the oldest adult. I'm the grandma who keeps smarties in my purse for my grandkids , the kids at our church, and eat them myself when I need something sweet.
My husband loves these, but the price has gotten high. Walmart has them but the price varies quit a bit on different sizes. Wish you carried them all year instead of holiday times like Halloween or Easter.
we ordered alot of candy and gave most of it away to the neighbor kids doing the trick-or-treat tradition. The favorites were of course all the candy bars!
You can never go wrong with classic smarties! One of my all time favorite candies. I also like to hand them out throughout the school year to my little school friends as a positive acknowledgement.
