(3 pack) Equate 70% Ethyl Rubbing Alcohol Antiseptic, 16 fl oz

This works pretty well. 70% is the exact right amount for a lot of things. It stays wet long enough to disinfect without drying skin as much. This one uses ethanol which is probably a bit less unhealthy if you use it a lot. A 91% or even 99% option would be even better (mix high percentages with witch hazel or aloe to get to 70% and it keeps the skin from drying out so much) but you don't get a lot of options with ethanol unless you want to pay 10x as much. I do wish it didn't smell quite as strong. By law they have to denature it so people can't drink it, but I think they overdid it a bit. I think a bit less acetone would have been fine surely.

Works great and does the thing all rubbing alcohol does, but it smells like acetone and not rubbing alcohol, which is a little off-putting. It works great and doesn't dribble when you use it though!

Rubbing Alcohol...I ordered 3 and only got 1. I don't see a note anywhere about why.

Do not confuse this with isopropanol alcohol, which I did. However, I kept it and decided to use it. To me not worth the extra price. Leaves a strong astringent smell and feeling on the body/hands (stated it is primarily used for hand sanitizing and medical wipes). I even diluted the alcohol and it still sucked. Also it does not clean as well as isopropanol, (see sentence above). Anyway, i am using it for foot soaks, adding it to my Epsom Salt soaks.

I have bought this Equate brand alcohol MANY MANY times and have never had a problem. This last time, I hadn't realized until I had used it several times, as when I buy it I pour it into various containers, but it STANK TO HIGH HEAVEN of a turpentine like odor, but spoiled or something. "Sour" alcohol, like it had gone bad, the last two bottles I had bought. I hope this isn't the new smell. Only the blue label stank as the red label was fine. I guess it was a bad batch or they have changed the formula, but it took me hours to find where I had mixed it with other alcohol, dump and clean all those bottles, and wipe down where it had been used. I kept smelling this awful stench and it took me a bit to figure out it's source. I had to go back and wipe down ALL surfaces I had used it on, but there was no coming back from having used it to clean my ears with a q-tip, ewwww. That's when I FINALLY figured out the source of the stench. YUCK.

I can buy denatured ethyl alcohol in Tijuana (alcohol etílico desnaturalizado), which is sold in the first aid section or health and beauty items. I use it as a disinfectant. It's mild stuff, I like it better than isopropyl alcohol, which is harsh, and it stinks. This is not the same stuff! It has acetone in it! It even smells like acetone. Maybe you want to use it as a solvent, but acetone is not healthy for the skin.

Don't Make mistake of Buying Ethyl .. I Wanted Isopropyl .. Ethyl Rubbing Alcohol very Displeased. Smells Like Nail Polish Remover.
