Needed a trickle charger to keep the battery charged up on a new car that we don't drive much, lots of computer circuitry that's on all the time and is a constant drain on the car's battery. Been using this device for a while and it seems to be doing the job quite well.
This is actually the cheaper priced battery maintainer of ours and it's outperforming the one I originally bought a few years ago. North Dakota winters are hard on car batteries and having a way to maintain a battery charge is key, in my opinion. I really like this unit. Give it a shot.
I been using it on my motorcycle. it works well at keeping my motorcycle battery charged in-between trips. I only use the motorcycle about once a month and it was not too uncommon it would not start. With my new charger that does not happen anymore !
OK people this is a battery maintainer not a battery charger. There is a big, as in "BIG" difference between a battery charger and a battery maintainer. This is designed to maintain the charge (float charge) on a battery. It is not designed to charge a dead 12 volt automotive battery. it is designed to maintain a fully charged battery that is in storage. If you think you are going to get a automotive battery charger for less than $20 bucks then you need to do some intelligent research as you aren't dealing with reality. Yes it will change an automotive battery eventually, but with 1000 MA it would take days if not weeks to charge a battery. Again, do some research before you purchase something not suited for your purpose.
Needed item for Battery start equipment especially thru very cold weather. Keeps battery at full charge, again even in cold weather. Waterproof case, can use this charger outside in wet weather. I have one old 6-volt tractor, so the 6/ 12-volt battery charging selection is needed a feature not available on all chargers of this size and relative cost. And the cost is very good. wb canton PA
A friend said he had one for over 10 years, so $20. I bought one. Very simple to use. hook it up to a 12 volt battery and plug in the charger. green=charged, yellow=charging %26 red means you have the battery clamps on backwards. Has a 8to10 foot reach.
These battery maintainers keep getting smaller in size, but they always do what they are intended to do, keep the battery ready to function. I have them on all of my cars, trucks , motorcycles, boat, and lawn and garden tractor.. I have one on a Ford Ranger that the battery was made in 2017, although I do carry a jump starter for when it inevitably fails. I had a Kia Borrego that had a maintainer on it for a year and a half without being started, and when I turned the key it started immediately. Overall, I highly recommend these Walmart battery maintainers for function, and the fact that they are significantly less expensive than the name brand.
Easy to connect, very thorough instructions, when all is correct with the charger I would change the score to 6 stars. It is a “trickle charger” designed to keep a battery at full charge on a vehicle or generator that isn't being used regularly. It only has three lights to indicate the status light that indicates the battery is fully charged, both of these are yellow, and a red light that indicates when the charger's polarity is reversed (positive (red lead) is connected to the negative (black lead). The quick connect only works correctly when connected to the clamps, if connected to the generator's quick connect the hot and neutral are reversed, which could damage the battery.
I brought this to charge a 13v battery for our RV. I hooked it up and started charging the battery, 4 hours in, I went to check on it; it was so hot that you could not touch it without being burned. I quickly unplugged it. This is a fire hazard waiting to happen. The battery never charged. I would not recommend this product to anyone.
I did not like this product because it did not work at all.not 1 charger 2 both chargers boxes had been opened like they were used items returned to store or sombody switched them out or returned to store for refund . i dont know . Maybe have customer returned items checked out before ou restock to shelf to sell to other customers. hoping to pass it off on another customer. These items were bought off walmart website.
