Stanley BM1S 1 Amp Automatic Battery Maintainer, New

I use it on my Suzuki motorcycle. I have the wire attachment hooked to the battery at all times so I can plug it in when I'm not writing it to keep the battery fully charged and it works wonderfully well worth the money.

This Stanley battery charger/maintainer is a great item to have. It is an easy to use charger that is great if you have any cars/ lawn mowers/ATV's, etc. that are not used all the time to keep the battery charged or a quick and easy way to charge it back up. The charger comes with clamps and battery rings so you can charge it either way. The charger has light indicators on it to let you know when it is in the charging process and when it is fully charged. The directions are very clear and descriptive and make it very easy to understand. The cords on it are pretty long which makes it easier to charge something if you charge it while leaving the battery in the vehicle instead of taking it out. This battery charger works well and is easy to use.

I tested the Stanley battery maintainer as a Spark Reviewer. The charger is simple to use and very compact. Just hook it up and it figures out what type of battery it is and what it needs to do. The cords coming out and going in to the unit have plenty of length to reach the battery and an outlet. Anyone buying this should be aware that it is not designed to jump start a vehicle. It slow charges and maintains a battery at the correct charge level without the risk of overcharging it. Perfect for winter storage of your special vehicle, motorcycle, or riding lawn mower. Well, I picked this item because I believe it is essential to have a vehicle battery charger. My problem was that my battery is fairly new on both my vehicles, so I didn't know when I was going to need this charger. Fortunately, my neighbor asked me to jump his car with my car battery as his battery was dead. If you are not aware of it, using battery cables and your car battery to jump another vehicle is not only dangerous but you can wear down your battery and cause problems with the parts of your car that keep your battery charged when they are working. Not a good idea at all. Fortunately, this gave me an opportunity to use my battery charger. The charger is a quality item and every household should have one. While it isn't a long wait to have a car service come to jump-start your car in the summer, it can be a very long wait during the winter months. It has happened to me a few times. So, you see having a battery charger is recommended by me and many others who have been through this action. End of story, the charger works quite well and I did not put my car or myself in harm's way. BUT PLEASE, PLEASE read the book of instructions carefully to ensure you are doing it the right way and the safe way.I recommend the battery charger wholeheartedly.

This is a well constructed, sturdy and attractive charger. It is thoughtfully designed to provide flexibility useful for choosing physical location, and to connect and disconnect from the AC power source. As with many products, time will tell how well this "trickle charger" will continue to keep the 12V battery to which it is attached at a full charge. So far, so good. The battery which provides cranking power for my large home generator has to be fully charged at all times. The Stanley Battery Maintainer should do satisfactorily, and keep the battery from developing scale on the internal plates as well.

This Stanley 1 amp battery charger works great. Our riding lawn mower battery was dead, so I took this cool little battery charger and hooked the battery clamps to the battery posts, making sure to connect the positive and negative correctly. If you do accidently hook it up wrong, it has a red warning light that will come on warning you so you can switch it. After I had it hooked up, I just plugged the ac plug in to the outlet. There is a yellow light that lights up to let you know its charging and you know it's ready when the yellow light goes off and the green light comes on. I left it for a few hours, (didn't really time) and my battery was charged, disconnected everything and my mower started right up. We have a popup camper and will definitely be using this on our camper battery. It will be on the must list to bring. The plug-in cord is 12 ft long giving you plenty of length. I love how small this charger is, and for us this has worked great. I will defiantly be getting more of these to give as gifts, this is a gift I know will be appreciated.

the clips slip off very easy

I have not used this Stanley Battery Charger yet, but it is a LOT SMALLER than the advertised size. I don't really mind the smaller size but someone could look at the products that are described and make an assessment of the product. As long as it does the job being smaller and may have some advantages.
