I usually hate canned meat, whether it be just meat or in soup. For some reason, it tastes nasty. But I took a chance and tried this. I'm so glad I did! It's so good! I had a hard time not eating the entire can before adding it to the dish I was cooking. It tastes just like those big canned hams people bought years ago. I will definitely buy this again and keep lots of it in the cupboard. It will be one of my most purchased items, for sure.
First time drying this brand, I liked them, and I would buy them again I usually buy Hormel brand, but apparently it was out of stock and got this brand it is diced but very easy to smash with a fork so it's like a tuna, fish consistency and that's what I like but being dice. It's also good to use in a salad
i bought this to add to a casserole. Good texture and flavor and while a 5 oz can sounds like a lot...its not. any recipe that calls for 5 oz of fresh cooked cubed ham..its going to take at least 2 cans. But i was not going to buy a ham, bake it, strip %26 cube it just to add to a casserole dish. So this brand works for me.
I was a bit leery about using canned cubed pork (the size makes them cubed, not diced). I was used to buying diced ham in a bag, but I never got through more than half a bag before it got slimy, and got trashed. Figured these would have a much longer shelf life than the fridge life of an open bag of diced ham, and that has been true. When I first opened a can, wasn't sure about the quality since there was solidified fat, but I can empty the can while scraping away the fat. Works very well in soups and stews. Haven't tried adding them to scrambled eggs, because they are rather large chunks (cubed, not diced). Do wish there was a diced variety to mix in with eggs. I buy the dried pea or bean mixes, and add a can or two of this while cooking. Makes a delicious pea %26 ham or bean %26 ham soup. Will buy more to stock my pantry. I could buy ham, and chop it up myself, but I prefer the convenience of this canned cubed ham. If I make a LOT of soup or stew, yeah, I'll buy the bag of diced ham, but that size is too big when making soup or stew for two.
Love this chopped ham! It's a great value, and has an amazing taste and texture! I'm not a big deli meat eater but I love salad sandwiches, egg, tuna, ham, etc., especially in the summer, and was excited to find this canned chopped hand some time ago. What's DISAPPOINTING is that I can't get it at my area Walmart in Mineola TX. So I have to stock up on it when I'm passing through a neighboring city. Please bring it back to Mineola!!! Thank you!!
I love this product. Add eggs, shredded cheese, green chilis, and chopped onions. Toss it into the microwave and be done with breakfast. Everything in the above ingredients is available at Walmart in a container; your only labor is adding them to the bowl.
I like my morning omelette but in the morning, I don't like to do a lot of work for that omelette. Dicing up some onion, bell pepper and a can of this diced ham in my egg.I'm happy. Don't really use it for anything else. However, the flavor ingredient works in my omelette and it is a super cheap can compared to the other brands. Certainly not chopped ham, which I do occasionally, however; it is a good flavor and it works in my omelette. It is yummy enough and cheap enough thay I keep a couple cans in the cupboard.Don't really use it with crackers or on bread for sandwiches. Overall, a good product worth keeping some on hand for quick and easy meals
my child has food allergies and you would think a processed food would be bad but this one has little ingredients and that is what makes it great it does have high sodium but we need that for medical reasons. This makes a great quick meal option vs food from raw. great for hurried snacks. price has gone up over time used to only be $1 a can but everything has gone up so still an ok value.
This was of rather poor quality. Weirdly soft, loaded with fat and barely any actual ham. I tried pan-fried with eggs and potatoes, but it wasn't good. Tried in mac %26 cheese, no way. The texture is soft and too 'squishy'. Texture is a thing with me, and even pan-fried didn't add a palatable texture. I wasnt expecting a level of actual ham diced up, but expected human-grade food. Sorry WM, a huge miss with this
Bounty paper towels a very absorbing but they are too thin so you have to use double to triple the amount especially on big jobs and spills ! If you don't mind having to use so many , then I recommend them ! 2nd review is for the ham glaze , I don't like the taste but I'm sure many people will like the taste ! 3rd item. Diced can ham . Terrible too salty and greasy ! When you remove the lid it's coated in pieces of white fat ! Kind of slimy ! UGH ! Would not recommend !
