Perfect everyday salt with added mineral benefits. This Morton All-Purpose Iodized Sea Salt is excellent for daily cooking. I like that it’s iodized for thyroid health and made from sea salt, which adds a nice balance of natural minerals. The texture pours smoothly and seasons evenly, making it great for everything from eggs to soups. It’s dependable, flavorful, and one of those staple ingredients every kitchen should have. Helpful Insight: Store it in a dry cabinet and keep the lid tightly closed — it prevents clumping and keeps the salt flowing freely in humid weather.
I do eat some seaweed but we all should get the iodized salt. Some brands I have tried lately had way too much anti-caking agent so there would be a white powdery cloud when you pour it. Sea salt contains every mineral known to science including gold. There are 3 to 8 pounds of pure gold in every cubic mile of sea water. I also like the sensible recyclable paper container they use. The aluminum pour spout can be removed and dropped into an aluminum can you are going to recycle.
At first I thought it was kinda strange to review salt but then it occurred to me that maybe some people never had salt before and here they are shoppin Walmart online wonderin what the heck it is. Well, salt, especially this here Morton salt, is just the best! You can sprinkle it on food and for some reason known only to scientists it just makes things taste better. Try it and tell me I ain't lyin! Start with a little because a little bit of salt can go a long way. It's best on things like steaks and potatoes and veggies but I wouldn't put it on ice cream or toast. Or jello. Maybe a little on cantaloupe but that's a personal decision. You can put a little bit in some water if you have a sore throat and gargle with it. My aunt Dotty used to put salt in her boiling egg water to make them eggs peel easy. I knew this one fella, Jimmy, who used to put salt on his scrambled eggs but that ain't for me. My wife Willa puts salt on the cutting board and scrubs the grease off it. Some people are called the Salt of the Earth which I think is a compliment though honestly I don't really know what that means. I think it means they're good folk, like Willa, but she sprinkles a little salt on her fresh chocolate chip cookies so I don't know.
Morton All-Purpose Iodized Sea Salt, 26 oz. A long-standing brand is considered a staple in American kitchens. Iodized salt is good for thyroid health. Smooth texture and great taste make the salt ideal for seasoning. Adds great flavor to meals. Packaging includes a tight lid to prevent clumping, especially during humid summers. Recommend.
I have thyroid issues, so my doctor recommended using iodized rather than my typical Himalayan or Celtic salt that I normally use. So I was thrilled to find iodized sea salt rather than the mined stuff! I don't miss my old salts whatsoever now.
This iodine salt is great quality and dissolves easily in cooking. It has a clean, balanced flavor and enhances the taste of food without being overpowering. I like that it's fortified with iodine, making it a practical choice for everyday use. The packaging keeps it fresh, and it's a good value for the price. I would definitely buy it again
I use this salt to disenfect, to add with my dishwashing liquid when washing dishes, and add to my soaking water with baking soda when I have to soak, (then rinse off) watermelons, potatoes etc. I only use Celtic Sea Salt for consumption, it however has no iodine, but thats ok, because I have a food grade liquid iodine supplement I use for that. This stuff is perfect for what I need, I'm sure it tastes just fine, I just prefer the other for food. Certainly an improvement to their product line of salts, shows they are paying attention to what their consumers want. Kudos.
this sea salt takes less than normal iodized salt or table salt. if you purchase you better purchase two because they're usually out of stock LOL! more people are learning the value of sea salt versus table salt than any other
Absolutely no reason salt should be this high price. Wish Walmart carried Alessi Brand Natural Mediterranean Sea Salt. It is so sweet. This Morton is adequate for now.
The lead image clearly says "Evaporated from Utah's Great Salt Lake" so I thought I was buying an American salt. However as of 2025, Morton's sea salt actually comes from the Middle East. They have updated the printing on the canister, but it seems like it's getting harder and harder to find out where a product actually comes from because that information is either inaccurate or missing altogether from the product pages here.
