I love brown sugar. I love baking with it. I love cooking with it. I love finding new ways of using it. I used to use C%26W brown sugar, but I found that great value brown sugar either light or dark dark was a superior value so I switched and I have yet to go back. Brown sugar, but I found that great value brown sugar either light or dark dark was a superior value so I switched and I have yet to go back. It has a smooth texture that I look for in brown sugar. It dissolves well in liquids and when heated leaves a crunchy coating, and my kids cannot tell the difference between the great value sugar and the more expensive sugar that I used to buy.
I wish ppl would learn the proper way to review items. Product reviews should focus on the item itself, rather than delivery/pickup, missing, or substitution item issues. Appropriate channels exist for addressing order fulfillment problems; this section is solely for evaluating product quality. About item: seems to meet my needs. I haven't noticed a difference between this item and name brands. It meets my baking needs.
Great flavor. Deep and adds good taste to oatmeal and any cereal, as well is making baked goods flavorful. Add to canned apples for an enjoyable treat. If it is not used often I take it out of the plastic bag and put it in a containor, and if it gets hard, just put in a slice of bread.
Hey bakers, let's talk about the baking aisle. We've all seen those big-name brands charging a premium for light brown sugar. But honestly? Why waste your hard-earned money? Great Value Light Brown Sugar delivers that exact same rich, sweet taste and perfect moisture your recipes need. In fact, it might even be better than the pricey stuff. So why pay more for a fancy label when you can get the same incredible results for less? Save your money and stick with what works. Bake it beautiful with Great Value Light Brown Sugar. Available at Walmart.
sour cream is fine. however whole milk gallons and cottage cheese have been horrible. milk is bad 5 days before best by date. cottage cheese was one solid lump of mush. I submitted a refund request but you guys really want this back???? I'm done buying milk from you. cottage cheese gets one more strike
Brown sugar is so tasty in pastry! I like using it in the mix/filling for the big Christmas sweet breads (buns) with ground walnuts and cinnamon, delicious! I also like using it for my husband's oatmeal, to sprinkle on top (it sure improves the taste altogether). It is also very nice sprinkled on top of cakes along with ground nuts :)
Good flavor and quality. Why overpay for brand name when you can get the same taste for less?! I use this for baking, as well as for pork butts when smoking them. Makes a great streusel and is really good in apples with cinnamon. Great with oatmeal, sweet potatoes and for homemade cinnamon rolls.
How is this light brown sugar? It's basically just white sugar with a tint. Did Walmart think people wouldn't notice if they added less molasses? Great way to cut costs I guess. I'll be buying the name brands from now until Walmart stops ripping us off with this garbage.
This is now the second time that we have purchased this item for our bakery, and it smells rancid when you open the bag almost like it was mixed with some kind of soy sauce. The molasses has definitely fermented inside of the bag of brown sugar I would not recommend buying this product until Walmart fixes the problem.
Walmart has decreased the amount of molasses in their light brown sugar. For a baker this is an important thing to note. I can see the difference in the color of the sugar and so I have had to start mixing it with either more molasses or dark brown sugar which is a step I should not have to take. Please fix your product back to the way it was 6 months ago.
