Very cute and good quality! Bought for my kids to make for their grandparents.

My preschooler had so much fun making this wind chime! She was able to utilize her fine motor skills to paint and help with assembly. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. I was afraid the paint would be dried out from being packaged for who knows how long, but it was very smooth and easy to apply. She loved painting the pots herself. We let it dry for an hour or two before we assembled it together. My daughter was so proud of her work. We currently have it hanging in her room, but will put it outside once the weather gets warmer. Great idea for a craft project!

This is a great gift for a child. It helps use their imagination. With the help from an adult, The child can paint this wind chime however they want. They can make it their own. And if you have any other "art" objects around, they can add glitter, stickers, what ever, to make it their own. It gives them such a sense of pride to see their creation.

MAKE A WIND CHIME is a creative concept idea that I absolutely love, it allows you to be creative and paint it exactly as you want it to be. It's a high quality product indeed. It's science, coloring and crafts all rolled up into one beautiful creative box of fun.

Great little set however it gives you literally just enough clear line to tie the chimes which made it quite difficult ( I had to use tweezers lol and I put a drop of krazy glue on the knot to secure it ) and the hole that the twine uses for the main hanging was way too small making it super hard to fit through also the set was a little smaller than expected but then again I didn't check the specs lol but all in all a nice little set

We have a collection of windchimes out on the back patio so I figured this would be fun for my daughter to do.. (she loves painting ceramics etc!) Well, she unpacked it and we noticed how tiny the little pots were!! Unfortunately she left the room a minute and my granddaughter swooped in and painted them in no time! She wired the little chimes together and up it went! I really don't hear them at all in the breeze or wind; I think it's just too small! Even for a young child, I'm sure they'd want to hear SOMETHING!!! Oh well, it was certainly a fun time!! Thx!!

its vey fun to paint..the string and rods were missing....hard to finish the project...plus was 20.00 and now ill need to buy the rods and string

I've recently received the “4M Make A Wind Chime Kit” and thought it was pretty cute. This little kit is very basic and nothing too exciting. I was a little disappointed in the paint that came with it though. While we were painting the little terra-cotta pots, the paint was not very bright, we had to use a lot of coats and it still wasn't that great. We ended up just grabbing the paint that we had in the house and a couple of permanent markers to decorate it and it turned out 1000 times better. This kit came with two terra-cotta pots, five little paint containers, a paintbrush, cord, line and chime rods. It was super easy to put together. The color of paint that came in this kit were blue, yellow, purple, white and pink. Once we made this little wind chime we hung it up and the little chimes actually did make noise when the wind blew and my daughter was pretty excited about it. So I wouldn't say this kit was an entire loss but I just wish the supplies were of better quality. I would have been sad if we didn't have anything on hand to decorate these pots other than what came in this kit.

I can not imagine a child attempting this project. I am left with a splitting headache after finally finishing it. My grandchildren gave up after a short time and were not interested. So I was on my own. And believe me it was not an easy task. First of all they don't give you enough material to accomplish constructing this wind chime. Would it kill them to give another few more inches of filament to string up the chimes? I ended up using dental floss because the tiny bit of filament they gave was not long enough. The pots needed more than one coat of paint. But there was not enough paint to do that. And while on the subject of the pots... they are tiny 2 inch white ceramic pots and not terra cotta like the box states. Some knowledge of mixing colors would be handy because they only give you blue, white, yellow, orange and purple. So if you have a design in mind that requires other colors you'll have to either mix them or use your own like I did. After I finally got this wind chime put together I was very disappointed to find that it doesn't chime. The only sound it makes is the pots hitting each other. It was very frustrating and in the end disappointing. I would not recommend it at all. It would be especially frustrating for a child.
