These bowls are twice the size I thought they would be! I wanted small glass bowls for my husband to take to work, to microwave/reheat his breakfast or lunch. These bowls will hold an entire can of soup, or a medium sized salad, a serving of spaghetti, a chicken breast and a side of potatoes- these bowls are Big. I'll use them, for sure, but I'm going back to look for something that holds 2 scrambled eggs. I have a bento box that he likes, but he doesn't want to use plastic in the microwave. We're in our late 50's, so I'm not worried about plastic, because it's too late now😄, but glass in the microwave is the preference… if the microwave isn't out to get you😈
So pretty! These aren't the locking lid kind, so don't *try* to get it to leak. But for everyday use they are perfect. I wouldn't let them bounce around in a lunch bag. I wish I could find more, but getting these two was like finding a unicorn! Great size too, fits a nice serving of soup or rice and curry.
I bought these for my sister because they are so useful.!!hope most of us have stopped using containers that are no longer considered healthy and gone back to glass. Anchor Hocking has a long and great reputation. These are pretty enough to serve a dessert in. I like to use mine for leftovers because of the convenience. Take one out pop it in the microwave and enjoy
I love these storage bowls. You can freeze soups or anything else in them, they're microwave safe and they're oven safe. I've used them to make mini egg soufflés in my air fryer (on bake) and they turn out great. I'm ordering 2 more because they're so versatile and I hate the way plastic containers turn red if you use them for chili or anything with a red sauce. These don't stain and they clean easily.
I bought these online for a gift. It was the second set, the first set was for me! It is so wonderful to get rid of all my plastic containers for a more substantial and safer glass set. No more lost lids and red staining like occurs with plastic. I have put in the dishwasher many times with no problems. I do wish I could buy some extra lids but will most likely just buy another set as it is a steal at the price!
I'm trying to replace plastic containers with glass ones as much as possible because of micro-plastic concerns. These containers are in good size to put leftover food including liquid like soup; very handy. When not in use, you can put one on top of the other one nicely. Due to the dent on the lid, it prevents the top one to slip off. The color of the lids are nice, too.
For years I e been using Pyrex food storage but all of A sudden the lids have been cracking even though I e been super careful. Recently I e decided to give Anchor Hocking a try and have been well pleased by the lid construction that allows for expansion when heated or frozen. Well worth the minor cost difference.
I only use glass whether it is a cup, bowl, glass mugs or whatever else I might use as dishware. These bowls have a myriad of uses, storing leftovers, candy, or just having a good dose of ice cream. The seals seal very tightly, as a matter of fact, when opening for washing before first use, it was a little difficult to remove but after washing and using, the seal relaxed.
I have some of these bowls already and I love them. They are beautifully durable! i have never seen glassware that seems delicate but survives drops, bangs, heat and cold and in a year, almost to the day, has not one chip in it. So, I am back for more!
These glass containers replaced our worn out plastic ones. The Anchor Hocking containers are sturdy, well-made, and the sculpted design make them easy to grip-even when they are full. The lids fit securely, so we don't have to worry about leaks in the fridge. We use them for leftovers, meal prep, and even taking food to family get-togethers. Very happy with them.
