(6 pack) Athletics Works Reaction Ball, Baseball Training Tool

This was a very unique ball to play with. I was not great so my coordination/reaction can really use some work. My kids loved it especially my son that plays basketball and reaction time really counts. This is a great ball that can really help train.

My husband used this reaction ball with his high school baseball players and this is his impression of it: Great tool to work with infielders, improving hand-eye coordination and reaction time. The bouncy pattern kept players on their toes because they couldn't predict where the ball was going. The ball seemed to be durable with just the right amount of bounce. The one drawback was the size. I would have liked it to be just a little bigger to mirror the size of an actual baseball, but overall I really enjoyed using it, and I will definitely continue to use it as a training tool for my athletes.

My Son plays baseball and this has been an interesting challenge for us all. Inside you can't get it to bounce hard enough to have it work well. Outside it challenged all of us to keep an eye on the bounce and the direction to attempt to catch it. Some of did much better than others. The baseball player had an advantage to his parents.

It seems like a very durable product. It's well made. It took some getting used to. It is not an easy piece of equipment to use at first. It took many tries to be proficient at it. It will definitely test your reflexes and eye hand coordination. I would recommend this product to someone that wants to improve their reflexes/ eye hand coordination.

My son is an athlete who plays multiple sports. In the beginning he thought it was weird but quickly figured how to use it. He was bouncing the reaction ball off the walls, on the floor, and throwing it up and catching it. What he likes the most is the shape which makes it easier to catch and stops it from rolling far away.

This is a well made hard rubber training ball. Made to ensure unpredictable patterns when you bounce it off the floor or a wall. Practicing with this helps you improve your fast reaction movements as you have to wait to see where the ball goes before you can react. I found it very difficult to bounce on the floor and catch multiple times in a row. The ball could be a bit larger to help with baseball training, but it works great for what it is intended to do.

It works as a helpfull hand eye skill improver. Though I will say it is very frustrating alone off a wall. You do spend more time chasing it than actually catching it. I tried it with 2 individuals and it seams to work out much better. Especially if other individual is willing to chase your misses for you when you think your coordination is better than it is ha

I spoke of the Athletic Works Reaction Training Ball excitedly and tore open the brown biodegradable “envelope” it came in the same day. I explained it to my SO and couldn't open the box. When I could later, I actually paid attention to what was opening. Here is when my blonde roots are so visible… I pop the ball out, surprised by the lobular shape, I turn the open box in my hand to read it. I burst into laughter and call to my husband to announce, “so that thingie I thought was a hand held massage, roller, lymphatic drainage type ball combo deal? It IS really a playing ball, for training since the bounce is unpredictable, it does crazy like a Kong dog toy.” OMG Ok, well, I can definitely see a lot of quick sharp moves tons of changing directions running for this ball. Seems plausible for training, so cool concept. It is just not for me since I'm so uncoordinated I do not do sports with equipment and I no longer have a dog. Bounce along!

It came in an easy to open package. I tried it inside and out as did my son who plays football and does track. It does definitely move oddly which could help hand eye coordination and sudden changes in direction. It was hard to bounce on a carpet, not much better on linoleum. We tried it on macadam and that didn't seem great for bouncing either but did get a lot of unpredictable movement. I think it might work best on surface like a gym floor or racquetball court where you can really throw it with force. I'm not much of an athlete , but my son thought it would be good for training someone who plays softball or baseball to get grounders. I'm saying I'd recommend this purely based on someone who this would be helpful. Your average person isn't going to really find a need for this and doesn't have an appeal to the general masses beyond hand eye coordination, training, or ground ball catching in baseball or softball I personally would not buy it for myself, but maybe for an athlete.
