This is a firm, dense cork. I've bought cork on Scamazon that is far less dense and doesn't feel nearly as durable as this cork. I don't plan on using these as trivets, but it as a good deal in terms of the volume of cork you receive.

I really like these! I had gotten some years ago at ikea and loved the cork. These are thicker and a bit larger than the ones I had previously and Im very happy with them.

I added these trivets to a gift basket with crackers, soup mix, wooden spoons, and pot holders. They were a bug hit this Christmas! I also personally enjoy using them for buffet style serving .

Great thickness.... 1/2 inch as advertised. Works well to protect the table from hot objects. To avoid spills onto the cork which would be impossible to clean completely, I use a terry cloth towel on top that is easily washable.

These trivets are not very thick but thick enough. I took a tip from another reviewer to cover them with a cloth when using to prevent stains. Once stained they are impossible to clean.
