STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING AND GO BUY THIS THING RIGHT NOW. With the most recent winter storm and BELOW ZERO temperatures, I wanted to make sure the outdoor critters and birds had fresh water access. This bowl kept on chugging along surrounded by 8" of snow and freezing temperatures for days! 10/10!!
If you want the most valued spot for birds get this for them in place off the birdbath during winter. Plenty of bird feeders on my street but here they have the only spot to be able to get a drink of water. Has been ice free even at 9F but no doubt it'll be ice free even at colder temperatures.
Our old one finally died after many winters and this works great for the chickens. We put it up on the stepstool so it is at a better height for them to reach and it works great. Water doesn't freeze except on the very edges and that is only on extreme mid-western nights. 16 chickens go through the whole bowl in a day so it is perfect for that many critters in regards to having to only fill when we collect eggs once a day.
This little water dish is wonderful! It sets outside 24/7 for the stray cats and raccoons . It is the perfect answer to be able to put water out in subzero temps for the stray animals. The thermostat does not warm the water. It just keeps the water from freezing. I wish I had thought of it sooner!
very large bowl we have used it just now for a short freezing spell with our chickens and you did not want a small water bowl this one had plenty of volume it remained unfrozen overnights where our temperature got down just to the low twenties so they work very well for us sitting in a sort of secluded area
I have bought several of these bowls. Our winters are below freezing much of the season . We have several barn cats and keep water on the porch and in the garage as they seem to drink more water when it's cold. The bowls are sturdy and do not tip over. After the electric cord stops working (2-5 years) I still use the old bowl for dry food bowls.
Water did not freeze even at -34 . I am impressed. I went outside, fully expecting the bowl to be a solid block of ice, or close to frozen. Instead, I found it was perfectly fine and drinkable. Wow, a product that actually does what it is suppose to do...... Wow.........Thank you for an excellent product. ( Northern Upper Peninsula Area) in case people are wondering where in the world it is that is this cold. ;)
Great bowl kept the outside animals in fresh water throughout the frigid winter. Even when temperatures plummeted below 0°, the water was there and un-frozen. And cord can easily be wrapped underneath for summer. Outstanding product and would highly recommend it for anyone with outside animals.
I have two outside dogs, and when the weather is bad I was going out every couple hours to give them water , now just refresh their water in the morning and it's good . Wish I had found this last year, like it so much I bought another one for a friend's outside cats.
best priced one for the size and it works well even in subzero temps. rn it's just below freezing here on the west coast as the winter coldsnap hits, but my critters still have access to hydration. **ps, it IS a little big for squirrels and even skunks, but i mainly got it for my boxer/lab and gladiator Dane, since they're bigger dogs who are inside 95% of the time, but enjoy drinking their "outside water".. they have like 5 waters to choose from, 6 now i guess 😂 definitely would recommend! 5 ⭐s
