Abu Garcia Max SX Spinning Fishing Reel, 2000 Size Reel

I own two different Abu Garcia reels, and the Max SX 2000 is definitely the better one. It runs smoother on the retrieve, the drag stays consistent under load, and the reel feels tighter and more controlled overall. Casting light lures is easier, the bail action is crisp, and it balances well on a medium‑light setup. For the price, it's a reliable, smooth, and surprisingly strong reel.

It's a very nice reel for a decent price. I brought it to Crappie fish with. The 2000 is the perfect size for 6%23 test line. It cast great and has a smooth retrieve.

As soon as I received the reel I put line on it and tested it out. It's very smooth and light weight.

It's a budget reel for beginners/intermediate. Quality is decent, better than some other reels in the market. This reel is in the middle compared to its other Max family reels. I recommend it if you're looking for a decent reel. If you have the budget, maybe upgrade to their higher end reels like their Revo family. Reel size 2000- perfect for light fishing. Panfish and UL bass Rell size 2500- perfect for bass

While I haven't used this, I got it for my dad and he and my brother in law were yapping about it being a good reel, so there's that!

Don't get dirt or salt in it. Very smooth, casts a mile with 15lb braid but as soon as it gums up a little it gets noisy as heak. Keep it clean and it's decent.
