I had the pleasure of trying out this Chromebook at a work event and I have to say that I am in love with this product. Nowadays, I mostly browse the web with my tablet or laptop at home. My laptop is getting old and dying and I was looking for a laptop that would allow me to browse the web and do online shopping or research. I have to say that this Chromebook fits the bill. The price point is perfect and the laptop looks very sleek in design. The full HD display on this laptop is amazing- I would be able to stream my videos and it will be crystal clear. The Google Chrome OS software automatically downloads new updates and you would not have to waste your time to download, update or restart your laptop. There is 16GB of storage space- perfect for storing pictures and videos. One thing I love about the Chromebook is that it is connected to all my Google apps. I can access my Google Drive easily. I cannot imagine spending over a thousand dollars for a different brand of laptop when I'll only be using it to browse the web and shop online. The Chromebook is perfect for us in the modern digital age where all our apps are mostly in the cloud any way. The price cannot be better. You will not find a comparable product for such a great price of under $200. For $200, I rather have a laptop than a tablet! Don't forget to check out the Chromebook at your local Walmart! I am submitting this review as part of a contest.
First of all, let me say that computers are basically a mystery to me. I know very little. My son picked this one out, saying that I'd be happy with it - and I am. The keyboard is very responsive and easy to type on, user instructions are at my fingertips, and the screen is an ample size. I was very impressed with how quickly the computer arrived at my local Wal Mart. Also, the young man, Zac, who waited on me in the "Sight to Store" department was amazing. He was very helpful, kind, and extremely respectful. I hope the Wal Mart in the Oro Valley Market Center in Oro Valley, AZ. takes note of this fine employee.
I was skeptical about getting a chrome book because I wasn't sure if it would be enough to use for online classes. It is easy to use and not much different than any other laptop. I love the keyboard, there is just something different about it that made it easy to type with. It works perfect for using while taking my online classes. It was a decent price and after searching for hours and reading different reviews I'm happy with the choice I made.
I got this as a replacement for the original Chromebook I bought for my father several years ago. He was very rough on the first one and it finally succumbed to his rough handling (I can probably get it working again with a few minor repairs, but being disabled and hearing impaired a laptop is his main form of connection to me and the outside world...I needed a quick remedy to the situation.). This model has a wonderfullylarge screen and is very easy for a 73 year old to navigate. He seems even more happy with this model than the much smaller screen that his first Acer Chromebook had. The setup took less than 5 minutes, since Google a chrome had all of his settings saved with his account. All we had to do was enter his email and password, and instantly all of his preferences and favorites were back at his fingertips. Hopefully he won't be as rough on this one as he was with the first. But with the price that Walmart charged for this one (under $200) it's a spectacular deal even if it lasts him only 4 more years.
I bought this computer to work from home. Tha price was GREAT. It has a great battery life and I can download any apps but I need with the amount of storage that it provides. There is nothing I have to complain about so far although I did just get it.
Took some time to get used to a Chromebook after having Windows computers since 1999. Had to call support to figure a cpl of things out. Only thing I don't like is the search button is too close to the "a" button. After a few months of use, I think I finally figured it out
We have been using a different brand Chromebook and read reviews on Acer and decided to give it a try. It is awesome with the 15" screen. We do put it on an HDMI to view on the TV and the picture is sharper than with the old Chromebook. The price was just right, too.
I bought this Chromebook to see if it was a viable desktop replacement; I'm a full-time writer, and I'm online constantly. I've had it for three weeks, and so far, so good. It's reasonably fast -- though it does slow down when there are lots of tabs open. For $179, though, I'm impressed. One thing -- it's pretty huge, so it's kind of a pain to take anywhere, but it's fine at home.
Well worth the money for me anyway. Simple to use, battery long lasting which is a big plus for me. Easy to transfer documents, pictures and files from other devices with Google drive. Acer quality is good I've had an Acer laptop so I trust the brand.
I had an Acer Chromebook years ago which I loved. That's why I ordered this one when mine quit working. When I received it I could not get it to take a charge. I left it plugged in overnight and it still would not take a charge. I had a good charger from my old Acer and tried that. Still would not charge. Called Acer and they had me try several things to do. Still didn't work. They suggested I send it back which I did. Ordered a HP with Chromebook instead and love it.
