This laptop is stupid good value . I paid 899. A deal so good i bought two. I'm surprised it's not 999 or 1099. Honestly, look around, this same laptop is 999 or 1099 with a 1650ti! (-30% performance of the 3050ti). Some have the i7, which is nice, but not critical for gaming. the i5 will do.
But a 3050ti, AND a 512 NVME !? 16gb ram too, not 8. all around this feels like a black friday deal.
I stumbled across this while watching a LTT video "How to buy a laptop". When i saw it, i was like, no way is that real? and here it is. Buy this, you won't find better value elsewhere.
Light for a gaming laptop is a pluse, and very smooth chasis as well. The lid doesn't do that stupid thing that HP does where you move it up and down and it kind of shakes and feels like you're fighting it (If you know, you know)
The red color is a little childish. Im looking forward 10 years from now when the RGB craze dies down, but outside of expensivee professional laptops, we have to put up with RGB crap. (my old laptop was green backlight, this is red, so here we go, from Jedi to Sith i guess)
Touch pad is hyper sensitive, but you can tune it down or turn it off. I use a mouse anyway.
Charge plug is in the back, not used to that, but i like it.
Full numpad, which i like, but i use one everyday at work, so i'm used to it. some companies (ASUS) has started removing it, but numpad is nice. This one is unique, it has very narrow keys.
F1-12 keys are on by default (will check bios later to see if i can turn off by default)
The function keys are really strange places. The increase/decrease brightness is a FN key on the up/down arrows (ACER why you do this!?) The volume keys are FN keys on left/right keys.
Will probably use keyboard remapping software to fix this myself.
All these are minor complaints. The hardware is the star here, and it shines
