Loving the Nitro 5!

Such a cool laptop. I know this will help with my Warzone sessions! The fact that this has a powerful graphics card will help also!

Wow! Good value

Joey August 19, 2021

This laptop is stupid good value . I paid 899. A deal so good i bought two. I'm surprised it's not 999 or 1099. Honestly, look around, this same laptop is 999 or 1099 with a 1650ti! (-30% performance of the 3050ti). Some have the i7, which is nice, but not critical for gaming. the i5 will do. But a 3050ti, AND a 512 NVME !? 16gb ram too, not 8. all around this feels like a black friday deal. I stumbled across this while watching a LTT video "How to buy a laptop". When i saw it, i was like, no way is that real? and here it is. Buy this, you won't find better value elsewhere. Light for a gaming laptop is a pluse, and very smooth chasis as well. The lid doesn't do that stupid thing that HP does where you move it up and down and it kind of shakes and feels like you're fighting it (If you know, you know) The red color is a little childish. Im looking forward 10 years from now when the RGB craze dies down, but outside of expensivee professional laptops, we have to put up with RGB crap. (my old laptop was green backlight, this is red, so here we go, from Jedi to Sith i guess) Touch pad is hyper sensitive, but you can tune it down or turn it off. I use a mouse anyway. Charge plug is in the back, not used to that, but i like it. Full numpad, which i like, but i use one everyday at work, so i'm used to it. some companies (ASUS) has started removing it, but numpad is nice. This one is unique, it has very narrow keys. F1-12 keys are on by default (will check bios later to see if i can turn off by default) The function keys are really strange places. The increase/decrease brightness is a FN key on the up/down arrows (ACER why you do this!?) The volume keys are FN keys on left/right keys. Will probably use keyboard remapping software to fix this myself. All these are minor complaints. The hardware is the star here, and it shines

Excellent

beau August 10, 2021

For a budget gaming laptop this one will not let you down! The RTX 3050 ti is plenty enough to play games at the 1080p mark. I have tried it out on several different games including RDR2 on high settings and was at 70 FPS. And the I5 10300h is no slouch in its own right. You can boost up to 4.2ghz. You also have access to the new DLSS features and ray tracing. For a mid budget gaming laptop honestly it won't disappoint. Plus the 144hz screen is a big plus. 16gb ram and 500 gig ssd is also nice to have. Also has slots to upgrade the ssd. Honestly for what this laptop is designed to do I have no complaints.

Good but...

Christian October 21, 2021

it's a laptop that accomplishes what it's made for, you can work, edit, play and more. i'm giving it 4 stars because it worries me the fact that the cpu reaches temperatures up to 95°C in some games like warzone(wich i don't know if is normal because i've search in forums and blogs and i've found diferent opinions, some people say that is normal and other say that is not. so i don't know who to take as valid coment because Acer didn't say anything about it) but that point aside i think it's a good laptop.

Great laptop, but lower expectations about price.

Don November 12, 2021

The laptop is beautiful, and it is exactly what I wanted. The only issues I have is that 1) it took longer to deliver than stated (and the delivery person did not collect a signature as the original instructions stated), and 2) the price of the laptop rose by at least $80 since August when I was first shopping for a new laptop. Performance wise, this laptop sings. Booting to Windows 11 takes literally 4 seconds. I see me keeping this laptop for a long time.

Not sure if mines is defective or if it's just a crappy product. Don't know what games it would be good to play on but sims 4 is not one of them even though I was told it was by their tech support. Started getting BSOD within a week of having it. Didn't do anything to it but download and play the game no extra add ons that's not supported by EA. No streaming of movies, music, etc. barley used it for the web. I've sent it in to Acer cause they said they knew what the problem was and can fix it. Got it back a week and a half later and it went right back to BSOD after about 30-45 minutes of playing. Called tech support again they walked me through a few trouble shooting tricks but in the end nothing worked and he told me it was nothing they can do for me. So basically I'm SOL. I use to love Acer. I've only owned Acers but lesson learned just hate to have it cost me $900

I have been waiting for the return of the product for almost 2 months, since I made the change by default, and they do not give me a solution
