A must for the Dell U2713H monitor.
If you want to get the most out of your photo editing sessions on the Dell U2713H Monitor, a DisplayPort cable is the cable of choice. Walmart had by far the best selection & prices on DisplayPort cables (even better than so-called electronics stores).

Causes my Dell computer to behave strangely
Unlike other cables that connect the monitor to the computer, a DisplayPort cable sends a constant 3.3v power from the monitor through pin 20 of the cable back to the graphics card. I don't know why this is. But it does create a problem. If I leave the monitor plugged in to the power supply and unplug my computer, then plug my computer back in to the power strip and try to start it, it won't boot up unless I unplug the monitor momentarily to interrupt the 3.3v. Once the computer is running, I can power it down and reboot without problems as long as I don't unplug it.
