I have used the other name brand for years. It is now starting to fail. It didn't even last for three weeks. So I decided to try Advantage II. I use this on all three of my cats as we recently somehow got a flea infestation. It worked wonderful. My cats have all stop scratching, and I can't find a single flea on them. I have found many dead fleas around their water dishes, but no life please. It works great and I definitely recommend this product.
Best price anywhere. As long as I use this as directed for my 2 cats, they never have fleas. They also do not experience any negative side effects from it. Have been using it for 7 years. Thank you Walmart for carrying this. Not everyone does. I feel this product is safe for my beloved cats.
Advantage II has always been my go to for flea control on my cats.. it works great… when you’re buying from Walmart always make sure it’s shipped directly by Walmart not by a third-party.. that way you can make sure you are getting the genuine product . Walmart is an approved vendor for advantage II
In the range of affordable it’s about the best without a prescription. It pretty much lasts most of the month. It’s doing a good job of keeping the fleas out of my home. As far as ease of use, I don’t know any cat that is easy to put flea medicine on.
It's a bit difficult to chase the cat around to apply the stuff without getting it on yourself. If you have cats, you know that they don't hold still for much of anything. The tubes are also tiny, so if you have trouble with small things, this might not be the right choice for you. The product itself works well and performs as intended.
I have a mostly outdoor cat. So I understand he is exposed to fleas all the time. I spray the yard and do my best to keep fleas and ants at bay. But I find I have to use this product twice a month for best results. It’s very expensive to have to do that but it’s the best I can do. Maybe for an indoor cat it does a better job. But not so much for an outdoor cat. Thanks , Marsha
I've purchased this for many years, because what other choice do we have, and the product never improves... A lot of these applications only work about two weeks (not 30-days as advertised) and then the fleas are back. Some doses are effective for a month, while others are very ineffective and this gets expensive.
Advantage used to be great for killing fleas on my fur babies up until 2 or 3 years ago. Now, they don’t do a thing! If these actually worked my cat would not have become severely anemic and on his deathbed. I ended up paying $300 more at the vet just to save my baby! I had put these drops on him the night before and at the vets the next day he was STILL loaded with fleas! If you love your kitties as much as I do, DONT buy these useless money wasting flea drops!
Didn’t work. Saw two fleas side-by-side on my cat’s tail this morning. Saw a few crawl across her face last night too. This stuff does nothing. It’s frustrating because I went and researched the heck out of topical flea treatments before buying this. I’m convinced topicals just aren’t effective. Flea collars don’t work either. It’s gotta be oral medication, which means a vet visit and a hefty vet bill. It’s like the system is set up for middle class people to struggle just to provide decent care for their pets. I can buy a gun as easily as walking into a store, but I need to see a vet before I can buy flea, tick, worm treatments that are effective. It’s weird since they say it’s to protect innocent animal lives. I can’t help but question, “So you trust me with a gun but not with flea and tick preventative?”
despite the claims that this topical treatment kills fleas and eggs, it most certainly does not. This topical treatment likely poisons cats more than it poisons fleas and is not worth spending money on. This is the second batch of advange 2 that i have purchased, thinking maybe it just takes more time. Complete waste of money and the company should not be able to make false claims about its effectiveness. Very disappointed
